If I read this thread, there seems to be a lot of guys having their own track at their homes. You don't know how lucky you are!! I will never have to dream about that, it will never happen!! Maybe if I come to work in the US and live there yeah, otherwise never!! quitte a pity actually!!

yeah, something closer would be good. it wouldn't make too much sense to make it very close to my parents though, cos the goshen track is out there.

Good point. That's what we decided was that with Goshen and Lehi tracks, there's really nothing more we need, except maybe in Lindon or something.

Dcox brings up a REALLY good point about liabilty. I am sure mx accidents are not covered in a standard land/home owners policies.

No they are not. I have a release form that I make everyone sign before they are even allowed to look at my track.

I had my attorney draw it up, it wont keep you from being sued by everyone but it is a damn good pc of paper to have in court if you do get sued.

Yes their is. Kip Posey (a local pro) has one on his land in his back yard. The price is $10. Next time I go, I'll make sure and invite you to come.

LOL, pretty close to that. They actually have a desk setup on their portch with the forms and envelopes for the $. So you usually don't talk to them.

They have a rules sheet that you have to get and read too. MAKE SURE TO READ THEM. They don't take any crap if you break the rules. they aren't a big deal though. Just make sure you read it.

the average SX track uses about 5-6000 yards of dirt to build, the first San Fran. SX track used 7,500 yards! That's a lot of dirt! The DirtWurx website has some great track building tips, from selecting a location, to lane width, to jump angles.

Gentlemen, I believe I just came up with a solution to all your track problems--sell your MX bikes and buy a trials bike. We built our house on only 1.69 acres and you can set up a really good trials practice sections in your own backyard (lol)!

Actually, there is nothing quite like your own MX track, and I am hoping to hook up with some local land owners to see if I can't work out a mutually-beneficial deal. I am located in north Georgia, just 15 miles from the S. Carolina border. If anyone is within an hrs. driving distance, PM me. Have grading equipment, will travel.
