Default Lacing my wheel

Part I : Few weeks ago I went down after a jump. Crawled off the track, regained my composure and tried to ride back to the pits. Surprise !!! four spokes sheared off at the nipple. Spokes had to get caught up in the calipers and thats why I went down.

Part II : Three weeks pass before I feel like lookin at the bike. Went to the Yamaha shop to buy a new set of spokes. Had to go to three shops before I found one with the spokes. YIKES !!! They charged $89 for the set. Didn't feel like ordering online so I got em.

Part III : The question. Do I relace the entire wheel or just replace the broken spokes ?

Is the wheel bent? If its flat spotted bad you might want to replace it. Which ever way you go take electrical tape and tape the spokes where they cross before you take the nipples out that way you don't have to figure out what spoke goes where. Then you know the rest every third spoke quarter of a turn bla bla bla.

Yep, took the words right out of my mouth.

Bite the bullet and buy the whole set, that way you shouldn't have to do it again in the future.

YP, so give me a lesson on spokes. Will the bulldog's hold up better ? Will the better spokes cause the rim to bend. I've got an Excel rim. Need an education.

the stronger spokes will hold the wheel true better. they are just stronger. the spline drive nipples are splined, and won't round off like the stock stuff. the whole enchalata is only $120.00 for nipples and spokes.

Appreciate it DBD, should of checked the KB first. Looks like stainless steel is the way to go.

DBD/YP, tried to find a place online that sells or describes bulldog spokes. Do you know of anyone ?
