Or Lawdog would be talking about how he was going to run 50+ laps of practice and race different classes, which he usually did. And of course, Dane and I would talk about how we were going to smoke each other during our 4 lap grudge race on Saturday, which never happened. Oh, and then there was always talk of who was going to hit the triple step up for the first time, I remember when Satch and Jedi both did it. Or how about last year E, when you swore you weren't going to ride and ended up in Keeto's gear and on the baby pinger?

Ahhh, the camraderie, it was pretty freakin cool, wasn't it?
Ahhh come on guys, leave something for us first timers. I need to see that ole ATM spirt. Lets all say were going even if things change.
I will be there to fill in for that guy who crashes every year. What was his name again?

A few years ago I didn't know anyone from this website either. My wife and I flew in from WA to Houston, where a guy resembling Mr. Pringle (you know who you are ) and his wife picked us up at the airport and carted us off to the Berg's house, which was milling with other ATM'ers there for the weekend festivities. I got to spend the weekend hanging out with Mr. Berg, travelling to and from the track with him and Shannon. Met a bunch of great people, and even had someone I had never met (zoohoot393) let me race on his then brand new CRF 450R. I also got to ride Mike/Garrett Berg's YZ 450!
Long story short- a lot of us have met at the GMB and may not have ever met otherwise. Even if you just want to come hang out and watch the races it's a good time. GMB was my first (and so far last...) time ever competing on a dirt bike which was a weird experience for me being a woods guy.
well who knows ill probly have a bike by next year im aiming for a good 2 stroke 250 if anybody has on they want to sell could you hang onto it till next year please lol. and ill be 16 so i could probly drive up but gas is gonna be a real pain

Big Red...but they called him Zip'N Splat back then!

I definately am looking forward to getting out there again this year! No official word from Mrs.Twister but I am sure I'll be running around with her or Mr. Twister (he's out there on sunday). Just looking forward to watching some people rip it up and getting the "I need another bike fever" kicked up another couple of notches!

Lookin forward to Smokin' a stogie with Ern, getting back in touch with Pragmatic and his family, see'n Mr. Berg and his family again, talking with Big Maico (and wondering if his mustache is going to reach out and grab me at any given moment) and most importantly looking forward to the comradery of all the folks that have names but no faces from this site.

Those who have been know what I'm talkin' about and those who haven't need to find out first hand. Everyone is feelin' the crunch....but if you can make it I guarantee you'll there'll be some great memories made!

My bike "IS" a big pig, that's for sure. But when you get that back wheel spinning there is a whole-lotta UMPFF behind it. Lets just say that she'll dig a trench.

Now... All I need to do is get that "Big Pig" down there. For the last two years John Lorenze and I have chatted about making a bike trip down there. I know that the bike trip will not happen this year but maybe next years GMB I'll have either my KLR-650 or BMW-R-1200-GS rippin up the Splendora dirt (Roostin Ya'll).

Just make sure you can get there Chase. I know I can at least catch ya in the pits.

I think I'm going to try and make it out this year. If everything goes as planned, I'll have a bike by the end of next week or the following week. My brother is moving out to Houston in the next few weeks for the Coast Guard, so it's a GREAT opportunity to drop in and say hi!

How about some call outs from the BAND OF BROTHERS 393. Maybe help perk up this years pre-event festivities. (i.e. smack talkin)
Id love to start it off but I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any of these fine people and smack talking requires some preliminary understanding in order to formulate the proper smack. And, oh yes, you long timers can lay it down with precision.
So help a brother out and at least start the bench racing. Char has become rather sedate in her posts as of late and I think she needs some inspiration.

Dude I appreciate the effort, but you need to smack some one you know. Char has mad skills and if you were to come and meet her, you would be humbled.

E,
I feel you as a kindred spirit,

Lets get this party started,

I will bet a alcoholic beverage if you think you can beat me in the old coot hole shot.
And I will throw in one of those chimney sticks you love so much.

Is is just me or...

did they mis-spell the last word? I mean, you might have told them to use the letter "H". We need to know

Remember, I'm your big brother. I can say those kind of things

For me, I truly love seeing all the folks every year. The best people I have ever met are associated with Off Road Dirt Bikin, ATM'ers, TTers. The camaraderie is simply very hard to put into words. I know Shannon simply loves seeing the folks as does Suzette.

Portions of the "weekend" are emotional for Suzette and me - but that is not a negative, it is simply reality. I have always found it very humbling that so many come from so far and locally to gather, "Remember Those Who Rode" and simply get along so well. It is truly an awesome experience and each one is very unique in its own special way. I cannot wait to see you folks.

One thing I do find sort of cool is how OLD Macho is getting. Heck I remember when he was in his 30's - but now. He is getting old............ then I remember I am still way ahead of him - That's what is shocking!
