Default josh grant vs. josh hansen

So lets hear everyones opinion about what happened after the Dallas Sx. Ive heard lots of different stories about Hansen smacking Grant at Grants hotel and now the police are involved.
I personally think Hansen is a little punk,, he's obviously a dirty rider after taking out Grant in Daytona,,,it was the last lap though and for the win,,,,but taking out Milsaps in a heat race is stupid.

It simply reinforces the principle that things are not as they always appear to be, and it is best to withhold judgment until you actually have the facts.

Hmmm, interesting articles...it's a shame that this kind of crap has to go on off the track, I don't care who's story is the truth or if either of them are, it's very un-professional either way you look at it.

Hansen has a history of riding agressive, even at times when it is not needed. I don't thing Grant took him out on purpose, But what does he have to say about the move he put on Milsaps? Lil Haney needs to be parked for a week.

It doesn't matter who took out who, the fact that Hansen followed Grant to his hotel warrants a suspension in my opinion. It just can't happen. Leave it on the track. It was pre-meditaited at that point.

I totaly agree with that if you follow someone to there hotel get out and run up to the car your planning on doing something other than syaing watch your mouth and I do think that Hansen deserves points taken of for what he did to Millsaps (If I remember Windham last year lost points for a pass that was nowhere near as hard) and he needs to be suspended for his actions.jmo

I don't understand how they could get so upset about a little push and shove racing. My friend and me are like that all the time, no matter what we ride, bmx or mx. We know that's racing and we stay friends even if one of us sweeps in an takes out the other. People just need to chill.

A little aside here: This thread draws my mind back to the 1981 Nationals when Hannah returned from his year-off with a broken leg. He and the reigning 250cc champ, Kent Howerton, were battling one another viciously--particularly in Hangtown--and trying to take one another out. There was no questioning if it was "on purpose"; these guys were ramming one another. And the AMA and everybody else pretty much considered it racing. Interesting.

Things have certainly changed (in a good way) in the expected conduct of riders. One thing today's riders could learn from the past, however, is whatever happens on the track should stay on the track. Yet, the riders did make sure that retaliation was swift and sure before anybody left the track (or the pits in some cases) though . . . .

I got no problem with what happened on the track, although I think it's lame if you have to take some one out to pass them. But following someone to their Hotel, come on. I don't believe Hansen's story, no way Hansen, thought it was Grant's dad.

In my opinion Hansen should have never been there. To follow him home (or his DAD : ) was just wrong. Sounds like they both have a little growing up to do.

I'm with Madcow on this one. We USED to call it racing. Howerton and Hannah still don't speak to each other to this day. If you ask Kent about Bob he just grins and shakes his head. Those guys would have made one heck of a pair of middleweight boxers.

As far as the off the track stuff goes, that's just stoopid.

The story makes me laugh. The facts will never really be known by the bench racers here on the net. We only get the left overs. I think it was just racing and it should be left as such.

I agree that it is just racing but if it happened to me and the guy was intentionally trying to take out people every weekend Id be pissed.

On the track and maybe even in the pits is "just racing" following someone to their hotel is, well Ron Artest going into the stands kind of stuff. There is just NO place for it in our sport. Hansen is one always saying rubbin' is racing, then when he gets clocked intentional or unintentional he follows the guy back the his hotel jsut to "speak his mind." Let's not forget Hansen also had a scuffle with security in Canada as well.

I was totally down with what I saw in the 125 race. All the politeness was thrown out the window and it seemed like the riders starting giving a crap about winning. Those guys were like parking attendants. RC might have hugged Bubba after his victory but I doubt if he reflects on those feelings for him the next time they're at the gate. As far as "Hotelgate", Hansen and Grant are too small to do any real damage. The AMA should let Tyler Evans give them both a real beatdown.
