Default Jeff Alessi and the Washougal laser incident

It's all the buzz just about everywhere... what are your thoughts? I think Mike is a pretty talented guy and from what I've heard he's a heck of a nice guy, and it sucks that he's having to take some of the heat for his brother's stupidity. The Alessi family has never been very smart or sportsman on several occasions in the past, but this is a fail on several levels. Tony Alessi threatening Davey Coombs? Real smart there...
Anyhow, discuss!

I think the whole Alessi clan is a joke and this is the bottom of the barrel, not only was he trying to mess with poto but getting shot in the eye with a laser can damage the eye, I'm glad they banned jeff Alessi but I feel it wasnt all on him to do this and they should dig deeper into it.

Last I read they have done about as much investigation as they can, Jeff Alessi is banned from being at any sanctioned races indefinitely, Tony Alessi had his credentials pulled and is banned from any sanctioned races for the remainder of the year, and Mike Alessi got slapped with up to $15k in fines.

Mike matured. His family apparently has not.

I find their conduct about the event more disturbing than the event itself. They definately should be better at damage control after all these years, but I guess they skipped those classes and went to "How to talk like a drunk sailor" class instead.

Ok, let Mike race, but kick is brother Jeff and his dad Tony out of the AMA for at least a year and also make them pay the fines involved.
There is just no room in our sport for that crap!

Saw a post from someone on a story about this, Jeff raced at the Portland International Raceway on the Thur before Washougal. Mike was there using the laser on the racers. I was not there so I don't know if it is true or not.

Poetic justice that Villopoto is going into the record books and the Alessi's are going home.

The entire Alessi family are troubled. I live fairly close to them and I worked in the town they lived in. It is always something with them...always.

Tony is a straight up jackass who lives, and gained his fame, through the boys. On many occassions I've seen first hand how he treated those kids and it is simply a shame. There were a couple times when Russ was racing Pee-Wee's that Tony and I almost went to blows. In retrospect I should have biatch slapped him to the ground and taught him some respect.

Mike has talent, no doubt about that. When you get him away from Tony he is a much better racer. He likes to ride but doesn't like to train hard enough to maintain for the whole moto. IMO, because of the pressure Tony puts on him he is nothingmore than a head case. He'll have good days and bad days on the track but in all honesty, he is better than any of us on this board.

Jeff also has talent, not as much as Mike but he is good. His broken up feet/toes are what hold him back feet/toes are going 10 different directions. If you were to see them in person they would make a normal person throw up...just FUGLY. Because he cannot train like he should he can't post the results Mike does. He is a head case as well thanks to Tony.

There are many, many more things I am not allowed to discuss due to professional ethics. This latest incident has sealed my dislike for the entire crew. Talent can only take you so far in a career and the rest is up to you to accomplish. Epic fail on all of thier parts but especially on Tony.

Jeff Alessi's Washougal Apology - Racer X Online

---------- Post added at 10:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:57 AM ----------

Not sure what to think of this apology..

He lied for 3 days saying he was innocent. On social media, twitter, instagram.. saying he had eye witnesses, blaming his ex-girlfriend.

He lies to his father to the point where the man is in public defending his kid. ( who knows tony is a wack job anyways)

He threatens Steve Matthes with violence once Matthes breaks the story.

Then he has someone else type up an apology. I say someone else because if you have ever read any of his ramblings before you would know instantly that he did not write this apology.

Nice gesture but too little too late if you ask me, He should have owned up to it as soon as he got caught by Davey.

Yeah... he didn't write that. He's too flippin childish to write a well thought-out letter like that himself.

That podcast is typical BS from tony he said he was disappointed and I was waiting for him to say in Jeff but he's only disappointed in MX Sports behavior. ha

DV12 had me cracking up though

"You complan about how zey andle it Tony, and how did you andle it? You freak out like a paranoid wacko"

LOL yeah I'm glad to see TA away from the races for a while. Major Napoleon complex with a hint of narcissism. What a combo
