Just kidding.....It's an orange!

And its all mine. Say hello to mine new desert sled (2007 250 XC-W)

The wife and I went to Chaparral before the races last weekend to get some tear-offs. She told me to get them so she could "look at her next new bike" I gave her an eye roll cause she has already taken over mine. It took forever to find someone to get the tear offs but after 15 minutes I finally got them. As I turned around the I saw her talking to one of the dealers..."honey, what are you doing?" I asked. "I was just looking" she pause "at your new bike". I told her to stop kidding but she was dead serious. We picked it up tonight. It was a left over from 07 for $5900 out the door. Somehow I never knew what she was up to before that day. Thanks Tracy!

Ya, we are remodeling so its bare concrete, no biggie. With 2 bikes torn apart right now the shed is really packed. She'll be going in the shed tomorrow.

Congrats Kevin, that's awesome!

So for those of us that don't know, what is the XC-W mean? I think I got the XC (Cross Country), but what's the W for?

I don't know if this is the best way to describe it but I'll give it a shot...The SX is more for Moto or supercross having the bigger hit, the XC is a for offroad, enduro etc etc or a semi-close ratio and XC-W is a wide ratio gear set and has the most mellow hit of them all. Some say its capable of 80-85 MPH in stock form...which I guaranty you I will test on a fire road. The ignition module on the XC-W is setup so you can connect two wires and give it a more aggressive curve and I'm sure other models are capable of the same feature. I also found out that you can change out the PV spring for a more aggressive hit. I read the manual at 3 times on the ride home and am learning alot about this bike. The hand guards are going on tomorrow and the "Q" plus the skid plate should be here in the next week or two. I won't need to get an oversized tank as the capacity is 2.9 gallons (I think). I still pretty excited...can't wait to break her in.

Right, I know the SX stuff, it was just the XC stuff, because it seems like they have all sorts of models. EXC, XC-W, etc.

So the W is for the wide ratio tranny. I bet it does more than 85mph though.

Ya it was kinda funny. The guy that was getting the bike ready to load was trying to start it. I wish I could have gotten this on film..I couldn't help but crack up. He flooded it....badly! He was holding the gas wide open with the choke on while he kicked till he was red in the face. I could just smell the gas. I grabbed the bike out of his hands, turned the gas off, pushed the choke back in and kicked....and kicked...geeez! After about the 20th kick it lit up and looked like a tear gas canister lit off. I kinda laughed and told him you don't always have to turn the choke on to get these bikes fired up. His response...Sorry bro I don't even ride or own a bike...The look on my face was priceless. After a few minutes she cleared up and the throttle response was pretty good. Theres a little off idle stutter but nothing too severe that a jetting session can't fixed. I think a smaller pilot and a little air screw adjustment and she'll be running great in no time. I'm going to drain their 32:1 oil sludge mix, put in some quality oil and do a heat cycle tomorrow. After my initial breakin I'm tearing her down and getting the head stem bearings lubed, race sag set and do some fine tuning. I can't sleep right now...I want to go ride.

The EXC is real nice. Got a light setup and a few other goodies but it looks like its only sold overseas. Ya all the models they have are kinda confusing. Oh ya...I have a kickstand....woo hoo. No more peeing while trying to hold up your bike.

Kevin:

Congrats on the pumpkin!

I'm going to tell you 2 things that you should do & you can take them for what there worth!

1. Log on & join KTMTalk.com you will find more information they you could use there.

2. When you ready to have your suspension done let me know! Most of the "Normal" suspension shops don't really know how to setup a KTM the RIGHT I've been there & know who to have do it!

3. This is the most important one, bring it to the GMB so we all can take a spin on the little honey

BTW:

MY next new bike will be one of the 300 XC's setup for the wood's
