Hey Goped TTr. When I was about 15 I got a pretty good job. I brought in a resume to the local go-kart track, they hired me right away. The owner left me with an hour to figure out how to fix a kart, I was done in 20 minutes and buggin' other employees. haha, He liked that. I've been there ever since. Im at the top of the seniority list and love it. I get to play with go-karts all day! The place has expanded into paintball, so the owner and I have built the facility from the ground up.
Before it was snowing we would go out quading on his raptors!
So look for someting you might be interested in thats in your area. Be very friendly and ready to learn, you never know how far it can go....

My best advice would be to try to find something that interests you, and see what kind of part time help is available in that field. You might even go to some of the bike shops in your area and see if they need help, someone has to sweep up after those mechanics! Being a responsible young part-time employee can lead to a much better job within that company down the road. Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth!

Youre 15 and in 8th grade? Man, when i was 15 i was in 10th. When i was 15 i got a job as a bus boy, making 4.50 an hour plus tips. Including the tips, it works out to around 12 or 13 bucks an hour. Recently i was promoted to a server, and am making 2.45 plus tips (a lot more tips). Works out to up to 35 an hour. On saturday i made $175. Restaurants are the way to go.

Couple of hints from someone who has been hiring others for 20 years.

Unless you want to be doomed to saying "Do you want fries with that" learn to write and speak in proper English when you approach your job hunt. Then look for what you can DO for your potential employer. Too many job seekers are looking for what their employers can do for them. Oh, and dress to impress when you go to turn in an application. Showing your drawers to the world doesn't impress the people doing the hiring. And leave your friends at home. Applying for work is not a group exercise.

And the wrong answer to "When was the last time you smoked dope" is NOT "oh wow, dude, I don't remember" That really happened when I asked an applicant the question once.

I hate to say this but your are still a kid any you should enjoy your childhood. I'm a father as well and wouldn't expect my kids to pick up hospital bills. That's my job. Not makeing money now and getting good grades now will pay more than a high school job. I've worked sence I was 16 and wish I could get that time back.

Wink lol, you guys would be suprised at this town haha

hey guys,

LOL, about the question about the dope haha. If they were to ask me that I guess i would have to lie, and say i have never tryed it. I have quit for like 3 weeks just cuz of my limited cash.

Also about the medical bills. I am not gonna pay for them, but i am gonna help my parents out by just, me payen for my own stuff, and the medical bill we ahev received for just cultures and blood tests are out rageuous.

Like one bill cam in the mail for 500$ for like 3 swabs of my ulcer. And my parents are struggling.

This town is kinda odd, its like the tweaker capitol of caliornia. This is one of the boringest towns around, and there is nothen better than for me to get a job, it will keep me away from drugs so to say haha.

I really appreacte all of ur guys feed back, and appreacte the comments and help.

Keep them comen!! later Robin

Well in order of getting a job you are going to have to take a pee test. So I suggest not smoking the reefer! just my opinion.

Like everyone else said...Just find anything avaliable for you first of all. I'm thinking maybe a small ice cream place or something like a bus boy. Good luck with the bills you have to pay off.

Maybe that is true where you live, but I have yet to encounter a place that has tou take a pee test, neither have I had any friends that have found a place that makes you take a pee test.

For jobs at your age, just look at local restaurants, its your best bet, not many people want to hire 15 year olds. And you are 15 in 8th grade? I was 15 in 11th grade. (Im 16 now, still in 11th grade. My bday is dec 20, 88)

Dont call about jobs. Go in,,ask for an application and look like you are ready to go to work that very minute that you walkin. In other words, be dressed like you would come to work, complete with haircut. When offering an entry level job, many employers note things like that. (Courtesy of Cledith Bourdeau a former teacher of mine.)

Fill out the application and spell everything right. If you need a pocket dictionarly take it with you. Don't ask them for a pen, carry one and a small spiral notebook. Have a resume that is shorter than a page with you when you go in, if nothing else your name, age and contact information. Short and professional. Lots of websites that will help you write it. That way you have everything spelled right on it to transfer to the application.

I am wondering with all the comments made by you guys about your grade level at 15 and who is responsible for medical bills: How were those intended to help this young man? I think he said it all I needed to know when he stated his reason for needing the money.

I am turning 15 on the 20th and I am in the same exact spot as you. All of the sports or hobbies I have cost money, and I don't have any$$$. Although I did get a job at a potato farm and am going to work for my uncle in landscaping. So good luck man and hope you find a job. I've got an RM80 and will have it for a while, still no $$$.

***Good Luck***

My advice is don't be too picky. When I was 14 I worked all summer at Micky D's and made enough to buy a brand new YZ250 (that was 1979-80). But one thing is for sure...you can get a better job if you have a job and a little experience/history. Kinda like credit...you have to have it to get it!

Good luck!

Heed this pc of advise, it's gold. I cannot tell you how many people go out looking for jobs with thier friends, NOT a good idea.

As for the job, I agree with Satch, I wouldn't be real picky. When I was 15 I worked at Popeye's Chicken till I just turned 18, and bought a new (to me) yz250, and a '87 ford ranger. You can make $8 an hour go pretty dang far if you plan well.

Good luck, and btw....stay away from the weed dude.
