Default how much hp would i get...

     

From a 134cc engine. I have a 93 cr 125 and i need to hone my stock cylinder and I saw one on ebay for my cr 125. The guy says that I can have it for $125. It needs to be honed out but is it worth it?

Is getting High Octane gas a problem in your area? Could you afford 4.75 a gallon for gas? These are some of the small questions that you need to ask yourself...

Every 134cc i have seen and heard of used race gas. I guess it has to have a high compression piston.

I would think u could run like 94 octane. Thats like 1.80. Im not sure though

Its just a cylinder, no power valves or head.

i`d ask what all has been done to this cylinder...any radical porting? any other alterations?...if so,who did the job?...if it was ported by Sears or JC Penny`s you should jump on it...and then i`d be wondering the actual condition of it...seize grooves?...how deep?...any special coatings?...was it coated by Wang Chung?...is the bore within specs?...whose specs?...do you get the piston too?...if so,hows it lookin?...and are you ready to fool with your carbie to get proper mix?...i think we`re jumping the gun on the compression bump...there`s a way to figure this ratio...there`s also a way to lower it or raise it...9.6 times out of 10 guys spend big bucks only to find the power differences gained didn`t satisfy them anyways...and then some turn around and sell their 125 to keep up with the 250 four strokes...cause at the races-bringing most 125`s is like bringing a knife to a gunfight-250`s in the 125 class kinda seems like cheating within the rules of the game...personally,i`m a poor racer,i`d save my money for keeping up on basic maintanance needs...sounds like a Las Vegas dice throw...Viva Las Vegas!

mx racer`s asking about liner as in steel pressed in or nikosil plated...the modern electrofused cylinders pioneered by kawasaki sometimes cause much grief for your average Joe...and his local machine shop...untill a few years back,the price was quite high for messin with a plated cylinder...also,the factories tend to stay within certain parameters of stoke and bore...undersquare or oversquare are two terms that come to mind,KTM engineers were allways playing with length of stroke versus bore and had some excellent results...the Japanese are slower to think outside the box...unless you want to play rocket scientist,and have the budget,i`d play with the stock setup...oh yeah,how much power gain?...it`s safe to say you still won`t be out draggin a cr500

I'm not familiar on the particulars of Honda power valves, but on YZ's, a bore increase requires modifying the power valve for clearance. Also, the head will need machined to work with the larger bore. I'm with p.r. on this. I think you will end up spending as much or MORE on this than you could get Gorr to setup a top-end right for you. Just my .02's worth.......

If properly set up you do not have to run race fuel. I can get away with 91 pump in my ported CR265 w/decked cylinder, milled head and recut dome. Hi comp pistons are only made for the 4 stroke bikes. Conventional increases in compression on a 2 stroke is usually due to either machining of the base, machining of the head or a combination of both. Things to consider for fuel requirements are compression ratio, squish clearance and squish band width.

I have a 1990 cr125 that either 132 or 134cc (.080 over) I had to send the complete top-end so that they could cut the powervalves and match the head to the new cylinder bore. It cost just shy of $500 for the machine work and piston kit, and I think they even sent a gasket kit. My cylinder was bad in the first place. If your cylinder is ok, I think I would just stick with that.
