Question How to get metal shavings out of engine?

So my buddy has a 06 CRF250R that just seized and apparently it was the lower connecting rod bearing. He's gonna replace all the damaged parts and all but he doesn't know how to get all the metal shavings out. From what he tells, me, it looks like someone dumped a carton of glitter into his engine. The bearing disintegrated. He was thinking of giving it an oil bath, but is afraid of missing a spot or not getting every bit out and having it seize again as soon as he dumps all this money into replacing stuff. Do you have any suggestions?

Most of the shavings will be stuck to the magneto. The trans side should be clean. You will need to do a complete tear down and clean up.

This is what it looks like in there. About a quarter of the metal shavings...as you can see they're pretty small.

I have seen it before. Completely disassemble, and get some brake parts cleaner and blast it all out. Then carefully inspect it. Be meticulous. All those shavings should only be on the crank side not the trans side.
