Default How do you know if a Top-End Bearing is bad?

Ok, time to put my bike all back together again, but I don't have a new top-end bearing, and all of the motorcycle shops are closed today..

I have today off, but have to work tomorrow.. So how do I know if my top-end bearing is ok or not.. I know I should replace it, but I want to get it all back together today.. arrgh.

they only cost about $10.00 . it's cheap insurance. if you want to risk it there should be specs in your book for it

I've been told never to put an old bearing back on.

Like the others have said, $10.00 is cheap insurance compared to $100's of dollars if the bearing goes bad.

Is there a way to test it. None that I know of.
