I love Pragmatics first post. The lady starts off by complaining about noise and ends up ranting about the dangers of motorcycles!?!?! Jeez. Imagine being married to her....

Follow-up:

The interest in dirtbikes in the neighboorhood has increased, so my nemisis has her work "cut-out"

I have since avoided riding them on our block for any reason at all. Now, when I start the bikes, she will get in her minivan, park at the end of my driveway and stare until I make eye contact, then speeds off. At this point, its totally amusing.

BTW: I now ask her every chance I get, if she'd like to go for a ride

Andrew>your absolutely correct in your assumption!

Just the other day my friend was riding near some new homes that were built near his house. One of the new home owners came out with the classic arm waving motioning my friend to stop. My friend stopped (500 feet from where this guy was....just to make him walk as far as possible) to see if there was a swarm of bees bothering this guy. The home owner starts chewing him out for riding in the meadow next to his new home. I wish I could have seen the look on his face when my friend informed him he is the son of the man he bought his land from, and the fact that his father still owns the meadow he was riding in. Hmmm....this meadow sure looks like a great place for starting gate practice!!

Leave her a steamer on her front porch.

Just kidding.

My neighbor threatened to call the police on me for riding, and i said "Oh good! Then i suppose we can let him know about the old oil and all your garbage thats being dumped back in the woods? Hang on, ill call them myself."

Lets say i dont have many neighbor problems anymore. It sounds mean, but ive found the most effective way to keep neighbors from being so quick to hit those dreaded three buttons is to dig up some dirt on them. My other neightbors are very old, and call the cops on us too. Im not going to be mean to some old lady, so in exchange for her not calling the police, i do a few hours of yardwork for her each week. Works nicely. If the lady seems reasonable, try havin a discussion with her. If not, dig up some dirt.
