Haha yeah I have gotten stuck in quicksand before. Muenster has some places where the sand is real deep. I just get off my bike and pick it completly up and move it.

I have been stuck in the quicksand in Muenster too but you aint gonna pick up the bike when it sinks! We fought to get my bike out and the best way to do this is to sacrifice your rear fender by picking up the front end and essentially looping it over backwards. Don't try rocking it side to side because you will break your wheel hubs and sink even deeper.

Never try to ride accross a dried up lake bed, or at least a reserviour that was drained. It may look dry but it sure isnt in the middle! On a bike you sink right away, on a quad if you go fast enough you can skim it. We had to leave a bike in the mud overnight because there was so much mud on it that it could stand straight up by itself. The next day we went and chipped all the dry mud off of it and it took 3 people pushing about 2 hrs to get it out of the dried up lake. Oh yea, watch out for the dark patches!
