Got some protective gear! I figured since im riding a faster bike now, a cr125, which is definately a big upgrade from my xr100, that i should get some more stuff to protect me than my helmet. I purchased a thor aftershock chest protector, thor quadrant kidney belt(ive been having back pain and i heard this helps, since i ride like 3hours a day and more on weekends), and thor goggles, stuff always flies into my eyes. Do you think these thor products are good?

The only Thor product I have owned are my gloves. However, I have had them for about 2 years, and I still love them.

Good move. You'll never know when protective gear works but you'll damn sure know when it doesn't.

I wear all Thor, even down to my socks, and it is all lasting very well and seems like great gear to me!

Good choice on the Aftershock, they hold up really well and provide a little more coverage than some of the other brands. Plus attaching a neck brace to one is easy if you ever decide to get one. Do you wear any type of knee guard or knee brace? That would be my next purchase if you don't. Even the cheap ones ($10) help. Enjoy the new gear...Hope it doesn't get tested too much Last edited by 808jmxs; 03-04-2004 at 11:07 AM.

I have Thor Force knee braces $59.00 the will make a hugh difference when you need them otherwise you might think there are a pain in the arse. I never ride without all my gear on however I did need to get used to the knee guards. Protective gear is the best thing you can for yourself. My next protection purchase will be padded riding shorts to wear under my riding pants. Skeletools makes a great pair if you want to check them out.

Thats a good start. I really hope you have a good pair of MX boots and gloves. Besides a helmet and goggles, boots are vital to your ankles survival, and gloves wil keep you hands on the rubber when u sweat.

Good job Kevin, keep buying all the gear you can. When we were kids we just wore jeans sneakers and helmet. If my kids did that, they'd be grounded off the bike. As adults we can wear what we want, we do have the right to be stupid. But as parents it's our job to protect the kid, so my feeling is "if they make it , wear it". I know, the gear cost $$ but you saved up for the bike so you can do the same for the gear.
