Yamaha V-Star 1100 Silverado Me Likey! Thank you to Ernie for reminding me about Yamaha's lineup of cruisers.

Keeto-cruiser - I like that!

Should get around 35 to 45 mpg depending on how I ride it. I did notice that it lacks the response that my 426 has though. Maybe I should go down one tooth on the front drive shaft?

Keeto:

Nice! the only thing I'm worried about is your ankle strong enough to hold up that bike!

Now just don't go all leather on us & don't forget to get a good street helmet!

It weighs about the same as my 426. J/K It really rides good for a medium weight cruiser. I need to find me some twisties now.

Don't worry about the leather. I'm not into all of that but do have a good street helmet. I thought about just wearing my mx helmet but I'd get some funny looks.

don't knock the leather chaps or a jacket for cool weather riding. Just stay away from the club patches and its fine. I had leather chaps(I suggest lined) and a leather jacket when I had my street bike. Its just a extra layer of skin for you. Nice pick on your bike.

good looking bike!!! bet it goes good!

I bought a Ducati not long ago and love it.

having crashed before, not bad but enough to remember it, i offer some advice. ( you can take it if you want or not! but think about it.)

the only time I went down I low sided and it was at about 15 mph. I was wearing all of the safety gear, and it saved my butt.

the gear is the difference between going holy s***t that was bad, and getting a ride home, or taking a ride to the hospital for massive skin grafts.

there is a saying among street bikers its ATGATT = all of the gear all the time

and i abide by it.

i ride with
-helmet
-gloves
-jacket
-pants
-back protector
-street boots

I know this sounds "uncool" or hot... but man when your a** is on the pavement you are soo glad to be wearing that stuff!!

ok ok end of rant sorry

good luck though, and stay rubber side down!!

good looking bike!!!

Hopper,
That is one very nice cruiser you have now. Keeep things Yamaha with the Star too. Great choice for a cruiser, I see several at the base every day and those guys love the Star line up.

Thanks again everyone! It's been a great joy to ride it to and from work and around the country side where I live in the evenings. Sure is relaxing!

I am wearing good protective gear. I get laughed at by some people when they see me with my full face helmet on but I'll take the giggles and keep my ugly mug protected.

Macho, I am planning on getting some chaps when it starts getting cooler. Right now in 104 degree temps I am almost wanting to wear shorts and tennis shoes. But I don't!
