I was putting my bike all back together today and was so tempted to go outside and ride it if there wasnt a foot of snow and -18 C. I have studded the tires in the past and went riding but I think I will just have to wait. Ive heard its going to be on the plus side here soon so hopefully it warms up so I can see what the new mods did! I want it to dry up before the arenacross here in february so I can practice a bit before hand.

I know what you mean man, we are freezing here as well, but we do have some indoor facilities that we can ride at. However I haven't got to ride for about 2 weeks and am jonesning big time.

Jim we have ICE!!! I am going back to Ky this weekend but hopefully when I get back the head will be finished, and we can hit the lake.
You guys need to stud up some old MX tires and hit the ice...great practice and sure beats sitting around the house staring at the bike.

Let me make all of you hate me here for a minute. The 3 days after Christmas the high here was 65. This past weekend it was 77degrees and sunny. The weather could not have come at a better time with all of the paid holidays and the new YFZ Christmas present add ons. Well before all of you start spitting at your computer, old man winter finally arrived this morning and the high today was only 38 and we are expecting snow Friday night. I'm about 45 minutes from Myrtle Beach if that gives you any idea how often it snows here (never!). I must say that if I did live where it snows a lot I would have a snowmobile. I watched Snocross the other night and it looked so cool. While the rest of you are getting snow I am getting 40 degree rain. At least you can have fun in the snow.

Yeah you can have fun in the snow, but when it's like 10 degress and a windchill of -20 it really isn't that fun at all. I would take the rain anyday.

I guess too much of anything is bad. We freak out when it snows because it is so rare, while you guys probably see it as a nuisance. Kinda like when I see the Canadian tourists swimming at the beach when it is 50 degrees and I am freezing.

LOL, don't get me wrong, I kinda like snow, but it does get old after about a month or so, if it would just drop to like 25 degrees or so and get about 1' of snow for a month and then go back to 65 degrees I would love it.

Have to agree with you there. I hate the cold after about a month. Call me weird but the summer time 100 degree heat and 100% humidity does not bother me as much as a dreary winter.

Dress right and you will be sweating under them clothes.
Don't get me wrong...I am from far south Texas...winter is God's punishment to Yankees!!!
But you do what you gots to do!

Winter riding did improve my riding greatly it gives you a new concept on balance and a new hope for Mud riding. Screws help on ice but when there is ice and knee deep snow on the trails its still a little slippery. Fun when you see snow mobiles and drag race them. In the deep stuff just make sure you stay on hardpack, digging the bike out isnt that fun when all you see is the tops of trees.

I always wondered why people looked at me weird when I went down to palm springs and swam in the pool when it was 50 out? It was more like a hot tub to me..LOL
I had an old man tell me I was going to get hypothermia....hah. I just laughed and said ya think so Eh?
