grabit Getting back together with my old girl.

I just dropped her off at the hospital to get her all fixed up. I can't wait to start abusing her again!

I'm talking about this girl of course:

It's been a looooong time since I've seen most of you guys (and gurls)! After I graduated from A&M in 2010 I moved up to Colorado to work for a small aircraft company in the Denver area. I love the job, and I have a gigantic playground to my West! (you may have heard of this playground referred to as the Rocky Mountains)

My bike has pretty much sat in the garage collecting dust for 2+ years. Despite the fact that I was always good about draining the tank, I somehow let it sit with gas in the tank and the petcock in the on position The gas tank smells like something you could refinish your furniture with. I stopped riding for a variety of reasons the December after my last GMB in 2008. I guess I didn't really intend to stop riding, but that's just how it turned out.

Since then I've kept busy with other hobbies and sports, and I have really gotten into shooting sports lately. I've shot some IPSC matches, and am looking to get into 3 gun competitions once I get a shotgun built up properly.

Rocking the AR out in the national forest:

I've also done some hiking:

Motocross is going to kill my ammo budget since I've been shooting about 2 cases of 9mm and half a case of 5.56 a month. However, I am long over due for some adrenaline!

The snow is melting and I just waxed my skis and stored them for the summer. My dad was kind enough to drive my bike up to me from Texas last week, so IT'S TIME TO RIDE!

Also, I have my 450 and my brothers old CRF230F along with several sets of gear up here. If anyone ends up in CO, let's go riding! There are tons of trails up there that I've only begun to explore with my truck.

So, what have my homies been up to?

Thats quite a playground you have Miles!

I went to the MXdN this year, which was awesome. We rode Rampart Range the following Monday and up Pikes Peak on Tuesday. Great fun and breathtaking scenery.

I bet MXDN was awesome! I missed it by a few weeks since I moved up here right after it happened. Sam made it out there with his wife and he said there was a lot of pot smoking going on at that race.

I saw the post about your recent crash, thats a bummer! I hope you make as quick of a recovery as you can!

If you're ever in CO with a bike again let me know! (though you're welcome to the spare 230 I've got up here) Hopefully this summer I'll learn the cool places that the locals here go. I'm told that quite a few of them prefer some of the other MX tracks over Thunder Valley, so it will be interesting to give them a shot.

Are you riding a Husqvarna these days?

There's some great trail riding to be done up there. I'm not a real big fan of riding on the street, but that'd be an ideal place to have a dual sport. Probably be a while before I make it back up there again, but I do love CO.

I was racing a vintage Husky, thus the avatar. I'm riding an '09 Honda 250f nowdays..well, I will be in a few months.

That bike looks SICK.

Guns are cool too, I recently added a russian sks to my collection. Most my friends are into newer guns (mostly building AR's) but I seem to like older guns. I think my next toy is going to be an AK

crdude: Thanks! It's going to take some work to get back to the same condition as it was when I took that picture. I've been really wanting a 5.45 AK lately just because the ammo is cheap enough you can afford to shoot the thing until the handguards burst into flames.

Motodad: That sounds like an awesome trip! PM sent

I looked into the ak 74's aswell. Looks like a fun gun for sure. I'll probably pick up a ak 47 though, seeing as it shoots 7.62's like my sks. I figure it would be more convenient rather then having to buy yet another type of round.

What are you having done to your bike?

That makes sense to standardize on the 7.62X39.

I had the shop replace the fork seals and fluids for me. The seals were leaking when I stopped riding two years ago, so they were bone dry after that time. Normally I'd do this myself, but all of my suspension tools got left in Texas.

Motodad,

I rode up to Sturgis in 2008 from San Diego with one of my neighbors. We had a great trip and saw some fantastic scenery. We got poured on going over the mountains, poured on one night in riding back to the hotl in Sturgis, and had to stay at a place called the four forks hotel in, well, four forks. We thought we were far enough from Sturgis to get a hotel for one night.....ummm, wrong. It turned out to be quite th adventure. We rode down to the one and only bar in town (still 6 miles away) and fed on rat burgers and people watching. I will never forget asking them where I could get cell service so that I could call home. "Just go down the road a bit and you will once you start going up hill look for the slight pull out with three mailboxes. You should gt service there." I did, classic!
