Default Fork rebuild tutorial

Anybody know of an online tutorial for fork seals & oil changes?

I have 2 bikes that need seals done, a 02 KX65 with standard forks, and a BAD BAD leak, and a 98 WR400 with upsidedowns, and a very slight leak, but I've heard they are one of the easier ones to do.

So at this point, I may as well buy the right tools, unless they can be fabbed really easy, it's the one fairly common repair job I've never actually done myself, I need to learn how to do it.

Anybody got any tool sugestions, tips, or links to tutorials?

I have no clue how to do it, but I did do it back in the day on my older bikes, but a LOT has changed since then.

I would recommend getting a seal driver for sure though. You can make them, but from what I understand if you plan on doing many of them, you outta have a correct one.

Good luck with it.

That should be the one thing I dont need, I've got tons of different sized PVC from my fish tanks that should work well for that task

sometimes the pcv collars and connectors work better than the pipe, and you have a wider area for you mallet to contact. The first thing will be understanding how much force it takes to get some of the bushings out of their seats. it is really pretty straight forward after you do just one.

someone told me that Eric Gorr has a book that covers it really well and that it doesnt cost much. anyone know where that is available?

I have used my OE honda manual on virtually all of them and seal changes are pretty much universal at least between showa and kayaba.

I am just talking seals and bushings here,,not valving.

I have a Eric Gorr Book . I'll look at it when I get home from work and give you a report. I could scan the section and email it to you.

That book good? For 35 $ it's too cheap to not own, if it's a good book.
