Not to be a party pooper, but I'd vote no. This is all things moto, not all things nutritious. I dont see the need. I think if it were made a forum, it might just be a neglected one. Just my $0.02

I say yes. Maybe it won't be the most popular forum, but I think it definitely has its place. And yes, this is all things moto, but for me, fitness plays a part in that. JMO though.

I see motocross as a whole package. Not just the bike setup. What would you have at a really fast bike if you can only hold your pace for 2 laps!!

Ineeda, the idea is to post questions etc about riding fitness, not about getting in shape in general, but getting in shape for racing and riding in general.

Also, recovery info for those that have broken stuff.

What we can do with it is unlimited, but like it or not, Fitness is a major part of *things Moto* related.

I'm not saying you can't vote the way you did, I just wanted to clarify the reasoning is all.

i'm all for it, i think it's a great idea. also as far as whether or not it pertains to 'all things moto', take a look at anyone that offers serious riding tips/training for motocross and you'll probably find an area of their training dedicated to health/diet.

I say YES. Funny thing is that just like ATM helps us share tips on riding and tuning bikes why not have a forum for tips on tuning your body?!?! Especially from a group you already trust? (well I trust most of ya!)

Example: Recently had a rider my age recommend Glucosamine Sulfate as a treatment to "promote healthy joints and cartilage and relieve chronic soreness and stiffness in joints and muscles". I am currently giving it a try and can already see an improvement......a little sore the day after hard riding and that's it....compared to several days of soreness.

BTW...this is just an example and I am in no way endorsing a product...there are numerous manufactures of Glucosamine Sulfate and it can be purchased at your local grocier (there was that generic enough! LOL).

The reason i suggested this to the rest of the moderators is because it is definately a part of moto. Someone breaks a collarbone or tears an ACL? They can come and get advice from other moto guys who have probably faced these problems. Want some advice and new ideas on training programs to improve your stamina and increase lap times? You can check out the forum for advice from others. Want to get rid of that horrible arm pump? Check out the training and fitness forum... I have a few "secrets" of my own and methods of warm up that really help me, that i would be glad to share (as long as you arent racing me).

It would only be neglected by the folks who are ignorant of what really equals speed... The rider!

I vote yes. I think staying in shape and recovery is a big part of motocross. Some people that may not agree with it may not have raced motocross. After you race your first race you realize training and staying in shape is a big part of MX! Everyone will have a good forum to go to when they need some tips on how to deal with there injury.

I think this will be more popular than most think. I don't know the average age of the people on ATM but we all get older every day. Why not help each other to prolong the effects of getting older
so we can still ride when we are older?

The day I can't kick start a bike will be the day I buy an electric starting bike... the day I can't push the button, Lord come get me!

I really don't see what it can hurt. It will probably do more good than bad. Unless everyone else is like me and never gets hurt (yes I realize just because I said that I'll trip on my stairs and break my femur in 5 places tomorrow : )

I'm in , I think it great to have a place to answer ALL my questions about riding. Fittness is a major part of racing and riding, I don't understand why anyone that is truely competative about something, isn't concerned with this part of the sport. It's the whole package.

I say go for it.

As far as it not being a part of moto, last time I checked getting hurt is a very big part of riding. Not one of the most fun aspects but a part nonetheless unfortunatly.
