First ride with adult neck roll
I tried an EVS RC2 adult neck roll for the first time today. I was surprised at how loose it fit, but I do have a skinny neck; it is very light. Heat was not a problem since it was only in the mid 50's. It was unnoticeable when riding except when trying to look up (say approaching an uphill or jump face from a flat, especially when standing up) or look down (say looking downhill before reaching the drop-off). Then my helmet's range of motion was limited since it hit the neck roll. It was possible to continue moving my head a bit within the helmet, but this resulted in looking out a different part of my goggles which is a distraction. It is made worse since I wear glasses when riding. Obviously, the roll has to limit motion to help protect your neck/collarbone, but this effect on visibility was unexpected. I began to get used to it toward the end of the ride and plan to continue using the roll. Has anyone else noticed this and how do you deal with it?

That's actually part of the reaso I refuse to wear one. I feel if you're range of motion is limited and impaired you're more likely to crash. Especially when you're riding trails.
