I would start second gear!!! You are to focused on passin other riders and ride the best ruts and everything. As it's your first race, take it easy. Just let it all happen. If you ride in the front, very good. End last, also good!! Believe me, a first race is not the same as practicing on a track. Just ride the race and learn from it!! Stewart or Carmichael had to ride their first race too and believe me, I don't think they ended first!!! Have fun!!!

don't go for the 60ft triple that you never attempted in practice unless you like blown knees! Dont' kill it on the line or wheelie off the line and knock other riders off their bike. Most importantly is don't ride over your head. It is very easy to get caught up in the adrenaline rush of the race and start riding over your head which usually results in very painful mistakes(see first statement). Also if a guy is pressuring you to pass don't let him pass. Try to stick the inside line in teh corner or even the middle line to cut off any lines that he may be able to pass you on. Good luck because you wont' remember any of this once the gate drops. Trust me I know from experience. Instinct takes over and you just ride.
