Default First Hare Scramble

All I can say is WOW, that was hard!!!

Gates opened at 6 a.m. so I was up at 5 got there around 6:15, there was a State motocross race and the Hare scramble going on at the sametime.

I should have raced the motocross 125 C, instead I race the Hare Scramble B 0-200 cc class.

What I didn't know was A class started at 10 a.m. and the B class didn't start until 12 noon.

I'm not really a trail rider and there were two choices A or B class, so I chose B.

But if I knew the course was going to be the same 10.5 miles, I would have raced the A, for one less people and two is was a lot cooler and less dusty.

It was a dead engine start, they let all 250's start first and my class (0-200cc) started around a minute after.

I was 4th after the start and going at a pretty good pace, about 1/8 way we cought up to some of the 250 guys and then started a pile up, guys were banging rear tires and trying to cut around (really messy )

I didn't really care how I placed, so I stopped and helped around 5 people, which used up a lot of energy.

I also got lossed follow some other rider, It took me 30 minutes to get back on course.

All in all it was fun, the fastest rider did it 40 minutes and did 3 laps, I did 1 lap and it took me 2 and 1/2 hours, I'm so glad my friend gave me a camel back.

I was out of water around the 3/4 mark, my whole body was cramping up, I wanted to quit so many times, but I wanted to finish the course.

I think I was one of the last one's to finish among kids and women

Yep. MUCH tougher than most folks think! I bet there were some DNF's. Congrats on the finish. You should be proud of that accomplishment.
