Default Exhaust Joint Alternitive?

Im trying to think of a way to seal the exhaust joint where the pipe meets the silencer. My old one is torn and i am getting spooge on my swingarm, subfame, shock, and rear master cylinder. ITS MAKING A MESS. Im looking for a quick alternitive to seal it off untill i can get another one from the shop. Any ideas? Anyone?

High-temp (red) silicone works great. OR..if you're not into looks, a piece of heater hose and some clamps will work too.

Im not sure how big the gap is on your joint, but on my four stroke Factory 4 exhaust, I just use hi-temp silicone without a clamp at all

It shouldn't do either until you have to remove the silencer or pipe and it will separate easily when you do. I put it on the inside of the joint and you really can't see it. I remove the silencer, clean it and the pipe end really good with some brake cleaner, apply the silicone to both pieces, and then re-install the pipe and the mount bolts. I wipe off the excess that comes out before it hardens. I recommend letting it cure for few hours before you ride.

Good Luck!

Um..I don't know about your bike, but mine has a couple of o-rings located there in the flange. I currently have my pipe OFF, because I dented it.. ..and used the torch/pressure fix to get most of it out. Anyway, you might want to look into replacing those if it has them, but I suppose a thin layer of the RTV wouldn't hurt. You don't want to go overboard and put alot of it there. It just might give the o-rings some "help".
