Default Easton EXP Bars

Has anyone had a chance to try these bars yet?

Welcome to Easton EXP

New Easton EXP Motocross Handlebars

They look really good, and I like the thicker center section -- Once I get a bike, I'm pretty sure these will be on my bike within short order.

I know the Yamaha of Troy guys are running them, and it would appear that Pro-Taper's are no longer made by Easton, which is what the old ones were made with (EA70 Aluminum).

Now I just need to figure out which of there bends matches the Windham MX bend.

I haven't tried them, however I've done some research on them and haven't been able to talk to anyone with first hand experience. I'm very excited to see how they come around and am considering a set come this summer.

Hopefully someone will have some first hand experience and we can hear about it.

Agreed, I would love to hear some first hand experience. Hopefully someone has some. Otherwise, we'll be waiting for me to get a bike first

I know transworld motocross did a review on them and they rated them really highly. They said that they were stiff when they needed to be but flexed on really hard landings. They also crash tested them and thrased a pipe but the bars were still great. I have no first hand experience but I usually trust them on most of their reviews.

I'm surprised no one has these yet. I hope I don't have to wait to buy a bike to see

I have a set on my MTB and love them. Didn't know they made any for MX but they look cool! Hope someone can give us a review.

I just put a set of pro taper EVO bars on my CRF with the Windham bend...no complaints.

If these didn't exist, the EVO would be the ticket for sure, but I'm pretty sure these will be on my ride when I get it...

From what I gather the biggest advantage is that it uses the Easton EA70 Aluminum, which is the same stuff the older Gen Pro-Tapers used, which was bullet proof as you well know.

When the new contour and EVO's came out they were made with Non-Easton aluminum.

The other difference is the 1 3/8" (35mm) center section vs. 1 1/8" (28mm) of the EVO (or other fat bars for that matter). So they are supposed to be a little more forgiving when it comes to vibration, but stronger than all get out (about 3 times stronger in stress fatigue testing).

You do have to buy oversized clamps to go with them, but you have to do the same for any other fat bar as well, so that's a wash.

Ok, I saw a add for those in the new MXA I think....and it was after I had ordered my EVO's. lol.

I know I was wishing that i had went that route as well. We will see how well the EVO's hold up. I had a small tip over this weekend, where I kinda threw the bike on the ground, I didn't hit the ground but the bike did, hard enough to twist up my brake lever a little and rip my new grip, bars are fine though. It wasn't a hard fall by any means though.

I'm sure the EVO's will hold up really well. They were great bars despite not having the EA70 Aluminum.

ha ha, so you my friend would be a great candidate for the new Easton's.

I personally do not believe the Pro-Tapers of now-a-days to be as good as the older Easton Pro-Tapers. Which is why I was thrilled to see that easton came out with their own.

I am not sure when the change was made but I had the protapers on my '06 and they lived thru that 4th gear crash that broke my leg, and let me tell you they hit the ground....HARD.

Guys,

The bars and clamps will not be in dealers until mid April so definitley look for them soon. attached is Easton's application chart to show you which of our bends are close to the favorites already on the market. Easton will be naming their bars in a way that makes it easier for consumers to dicipher exactly what they are. For example: Windham bend is the same as Easton's 94 56. 94 refers to the height (mm) and 56 to the pull back (mm). This works nicely if you want to try something different because it allows you to know what you are working with. If you wanted to change to something lower you know exactly how much lower they are just by looking in the box. Easton also has a very informative web-site [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and urge you to check it out and comment on items you think would help make it better.

Cheers!

Most def a better way to name bars! The other way was just plain useless. Its a good looking bar, for sure!

I also want to let everyone out there know that our bar is a complete system and must be used with our pirch clamps which sit 4mm higher than a stock pirch clamp and therefore all bar bends we offer have this compensation built in so that overall height is the same.
