Red face Deer hunting on a YZ250 thumper

I just started out down a dirt road along a stone wall, was tapped out in 3rd gear, about to up shift to 4th, all of a sudden, a deer larger than a German Shepherd with white spots leaped in front of me and I hit it broadside. I had like two seconds before impact. The front wheel tucked in to the right and I went over the bars, the bike cart wheeled over me, landing just north of my head. Lying on the ground, I saw the deer struggling to get to its feet just to my right; it got up and shot into the undergrowth as the engine died on my 250F. I took a pretty good shot to the head as I augured into the dirt like a lawn dart and have a major dirt rash on my left side. I KNOW I’m going to feel this tomorrow. The only damage was a bent clutch lever, I have no idea what the deer suffered, but he was down for at least a couple seconds lying right next to me… I was kind of stunned looking at him scrambling to get to his feet and thinking “You dumb SOB… that really hurt!” Of course, now I feel sorry for it and hope it isn’t hurt too badly. I guess I’m lucky it wasn’t bigger. I told my neighbor about the accident and he tells me I’m real lucky – last week he came home and there was a black bear on his deck. I definitely would NOT want one of those lying next to me all ticked off! Anyway, you woods riders be safe. Maybe I should get one of those deer whistles mounted to my number plate

Glad your ok. Hope you don't feel the pain too much!

Funnilly enough the roos jump out in front of you here if you are riding at the right (or wrong) times. THey are dangerous cause they just jump out and bounce anywhere and everywhere.......
