He wasnt he said last night after the race at the press conference that he has the points in the bad to win he is just watching his back and playing it smart to keep it that way he still recieved 2 points more than reed and reed is around 31 points under him now so he's not worried and bubba has been out long enough that hes not even in the runnings points wise. Id do the same if in that position.

Even so, I'd still like to see RC go out there and put the whoop on Bubba. He seems to be in a major funk, he's been crashing a lot lately and doesn't seem up to his full potential. I was major bummed to see what happened to Reed on the last lap also, that sucked. Hopefully, RC will hit the switch again outdoors and give everyone a good run for their money.

Right now Bubba has nothing to lose, Carmichael does. I'm anxiously waiting the outdoor season to see what shakes out.

My thoughts exactly. Kudos to RC for playing it safe and not trying to lose the championship. Outdoors... whole new ballgame

Outdoors is shaping up to be a real good show isn't it?

A lot of things have to be going on in Rick Carmichaels' head right now. From what cyclnews (i think it was cyclenews) said, he had a practice crash earlier in the week that sent him to the hospital. I understand he didn't ride practice for time on friday. The big thing is, right now he is really the only one that can "lose" the title for himself, but he will likely have to ride faster than he has all year to beat James Stewart and possibly even Chad Reed from here out. You know he wants to give it his "all". Sometimes I think turning on the mental "governor" just makes someone like him more prone to falling. So far it is about the only interesting part of the championship since before anaheim 3.

I was there...I saw it. Bubba rode is butt off and made very few mistakes. Carmichael had to ride a semi to get into the main!! He crashed twice in his heat race!! Does that sound like he was out for a Sunday drive and not giving it his all last night? Bubba smoked him in the heat race and Bubba smoked everyone in the main.

It wasn't even close....
