Torque wrenches come in numerous styles but the three most popular are beam, click and digital.

If you want something that is economical, accurate and adequate for the typical DIYer, a beam style from a reputable brand will work fine.

If you want to take it up a notch, a click style wrench is only a bit more money and offers the advantage of working in tighter spaces where you may not be able to view the beamer's scale.

A digital wrench may offer a click or tone (or both). These cost quite a bit more and require batteries to operate, but a good quality wrench will offer the best accuracy.
