It's nice to see the AMA in these shady relationships. It really shows that their concern is for 'your rights as a rider'.

It's just sad.

The AMA's concern is selling more bikes, given that the manufacturers make up the bulk of the Board of Directors.

The AMA's concern is keeping Harley afloat and collecting membership fees.

I was the victim of riding pro motocross back in the days when they still used the Class C flat track refs for motocross. Talk about culture shock!

Unfortunately, some of those screwey rules are still in the book.

If I were riding today, I would be busy putting together a rider's union. And I am not a proponent of unions. The purses paid today at the Nationals and Supercrosses are LESS than the purses paid in the 70's. And that's before you figure in inflation. Effectively, the purses are 25% of what was paid back then.

Do this math. 50,000 spectators times 25/ticket. That's 1.25 MILLION dollars. Add in TV contracts and sponsor endorsements. Should easily clear 1.5 MILLION, right. A rider makes the night program at a Supercross and finishes 20th. They effectively make their entry fee back. $250. Ricky or Chad wins the race, they make less than $5 Grand from the purse. Sumbody be making some money on de race.

AMA sucks. Clear Channel is just greedy. BTW, they are based here in San Antonio. The motorsports division is based in Houston.
