If you had to choose between and Rekluse Clutch or a Scott Steer Dampner, which would it be?

Since I've never ridden a bike with an auto clutch, I'm going to say the Scotts. I had one on a bike before and it was like night and day difference, IMO. From what I understand, the same holds true for the clutch, just that I have no experience with one.

Steering damper.

Now change that to a slipper clutch and then my .02 would change.

Well, if I really get this big Tax Relief Check in the mail, I am getting one or the other. I really think the Scott is what I will get.

You couldn't pay me to put a Rekluse in my bike, so damper would be my choice. Check the new Dirt Rider. I am brain dead and forgot who makes it, but someone just came out with a new damper that looks WAY nice compared to the Scott. You don't have to change bars, clamps or anything. it looks like it mounts to your steering stem nut somehow.

Actually there are several. Scott has just designed a new low profile one that isnt on the market yet. I have been on a woods forum looking around and the Scott has the highest marks.

i have got both on my bike. i added the clutch, then the stabilizer after that.

Rekluse, we don't need no stinking Rekluse. I never could get used to it on a motocross track. In the woods, though, is a different story.

I have had a Scotts on my 05 CRF (now sold) for some and it is just like cheating on a rough MX track. You don't need to worry about the bars or anything else. Go with the fender mount. Once you get it adjusted for MX, you won't mess with it very much anyway.

Put it out of the way on the fender and you will never know it is there and you don't have to clutter up your bars, etc. with stuff, especially if you have pro-tapers.
