Char393 Injured - Prayers Needed

Charlene was injured in a race today and will need surgery. Someone ran into her in a corner and three riders went down. Charlene has a broken knee cap and a gash below her knee. She had knee braces on and was taken to the hospital. X-rays showed her knee cap was broken and requires immediate surgery.

Please keep Char and her family in your prays. More updates will follow. I just now received a call from Howard [BigMaico393].

She seemed in good spirits before leaving for the hospital. I'm not sure they figured out exactly what happened, but it looked like some riders came together and caused a pile up.

That sucks. She's tough, though. I saw her auger at 3P a year or so ago and she popped right up and was ready to go. Most dudes wouldn't have walked away from that. Good docs down in Houston, I am sure that we will see some pics and a word or two in a couple of days.

I bet she's back shredding before July is over!

She is at Conroe Regency Medical Center. When I left at 7:30 they were about to take her into surgery. I'm sure she will be ready for well wishes tomorrow.

Her laceration is about 5cm deep and 4in wide, right across the kneecap then the kneecap broken in half. she was wearing knee guards and I believe the bottom edge of the guard is what caused the damage.

I didnt see the accident but saw at least three bikes being picked up, could tell right away she was hurt. Man her knee was narly, I have a picture I'll post with warnings tomorrow. That was the third thing she said after seeing her own knee "get a picture of it", then "who helped me" and "how is my bike".

A huge thanks to the guy on the quad for bringing her back to the pits and to Dan for loading us up and driving us to Daniel.

They are taking her into surgery to clean-up the wound and stabilize her knee for the night. She will have surgery tomorrow.
