supercross in OZ needs a big kick in the backside to rev things up a bit, hope he can get it to where it should be, sorta like a more professional feeder series for AMA would be sweet.

I'd like to see it go to a world series say 2 rounds here 1 in NZ a few in europe and the rest in the states, a bit like the GP. I want to be sitting at the melbourne cricket ground with 100,000 screaming fans watching them go around!

This is what really caught my eye..

In an encouraging world-first for the sport, the entire Super X series will be telecast live on Fox Sports. Even in the USA where the sport is so well established, not all races are televised live.
I hope the series is successful there, I'd love to see it bring in enough number that they'll actually consider showing more of our events live.

Here's a pretty decent interview on YouTube. Reed may not have the best reputation in the USA but at least he's promoting the sport. I know he's making bookoo money at it but that's cool with me.

what do you think about the race format, it seems like they want to try and make it more intense, with shorter races and keep the riders closer in combat. I always love to watch at our local sx races the one on one shootout it always gets the crowd going.

quote from fullnoise.

The formats stray from the sport’s traditional model and will ensure spectacular race action for both the crowd and television viewers.

Man-on-Man pits two riders only in a one lap sprint. First past the chequered flag after just one lap will move on with the loser eliminated. Heats, quarters, semis and a final - fast and furious racing.

Survival, as the name suggests, is an all-out battle for survival through four five lap races where the bottom five are eliminated each time until only five are left to fight it out. A one minute rest from when the first rider crosses the line, will make this event even more punishing.

The Triple Challenge will see 20 riders fight it out in three separate races of six laps with points gained in each race to go toward their final tally for the round.

Super Sprint will see four heats of 10 riders with the winner of each proceeding straight to the grand final. From there competitors positioned second to fifth will fight it out in the semi finals with those fierce and fast enough to finish in the top four joining the original riders in the final.

wonder if many of the supercross ONLY guys in AMA are looking into racing this series to stay on their game, that would be sweet as to see a heap of the U.S boys over here battling with our boys, the rivalry would be intense.
