Two guys together in a truck, wearing Wranglers and big belt buckles? Take the 680 to the 84 to the 580 to the 5 and stay far way from San Francisco.
Unless of course you like that kind of attention.

We are friends, but not "Brokeback Mountain" type of friends. I'll keep the hammer down while in the SF vicinity

Must have been a heckuva good deal if it is worthwhile to come down here to pick it up. I'll ask "how much?" if you want to brag.

I would have jumped on that. I bought way too much trailer for my 4.7L gas truck. Weekend Warrior was sued for under rating the weight of their trailers so they closed their doors.
I'll just have to get a bigger truck.

After owning one diesel I'll never go back to a gasser for a tow rig, especially a little motor Pulling our 28' bumper pull camp trailer up Blewett Pass in WA state a few years back, going up about a 7% grade or so, gaining speed and passing the car in front of me... on a stock diesel. PRICELESS

Sweet deal. My next one is either a single cab or a 4 door like you got. the extra cab with no doors just makes it a collection point.

I can take the overhead camper and either a bike trailer or a snowmobile trailer on mine, keep up with traffic on some really steep grades and get over 15 with it. My friend and his Nissan (do the rest of you bug the nissan crowd by calling them datsuns too) wont get 12 pulling a trailer and no camper.

I fly down to get the truck on the 14th... the wait is gonna kill me. This truck should be right there with my old 99 SD, it has basically the same motor setup except for the turbo and intercooler. My 99 was a good runner, I hope I have the same good luck with the new one once I get it.

San jose huh???... If the wait don't get you, the traffic will! I would avoid after work rush hour at all costs... 680 North yuck, right into the 580 crap,... I HATED that commute. Reason #1 I left the cushy, high paying job...

Hope that all goes well for you! sounds like a killer deal!

I believe our plane lands in San Jose at 2:45 or so, the current owner works near the airport and lives in Morgan Hill. Hoping to go check out the truck, give him the money, and make like a bunch of sheep and get the flock out of there ASAP

Tomorrow is the big day! Plane gets to Cali around 11:00, hopefully we can boogie north before the traffic gets too unbearable during rush hour.

Take 101n from morgan Hill, at the outskirts of San Jose take 680 Towards Sacramento. Stay on 680 for an hour or so till ya hit 80. Take 80e till ya hit 505n, it'll get ya to 5. 680 only requires 2 persons for the commute lane.
Or, you can hit Crockett up here in the north bay and drink a few..
