Car that runs on water!

This guy has this set up where it breaks down the H2O into a gas of HHO. He makes Hydrogen which is flammable and if you give it some oxygen it is really flammable so here you go the movie. Wouldn't it be great to fill your bike up from the water hose!

It's funny now but someday...I've felt for a long time now that Hydrogen would be the fuel of the future.

That's a great concept but what does it take to convert the water to HHO? Is a water shortage coming next? Salt water would be a better option or Solar. We have to be careful of our most important resources.

Good post Motomom!

Good post Motomom!
Once the HHO is used, i think water comes out the exhaust, or water vapor. So I don't think its going anywhere.

I hear that!

Sure would be nice to drag the hose over to the car versus getting hosed at the pumps.

Yes, but at a slow rate which would at the moment not be fast enough to supply the world with fresh water.

Maybe you guys that run diesel should look into biodiesel. Pretty cool process and I'd like to make a small batch just to say I did.

Thank you, that was my point. If by chance they do change to HHO, it would be very expensive at first then as they mass produce more and more the orice would drop.

Char, what is the cost for bio-diesel... if you could find some?

I'm not really sure Keeto as I've not really looked into purchasing it finished form. I just recently read an article in the Anchorage paper though where a group was looking into getting some waste oil from local restaraunts to use in making it. As I understand, you can produce up to 400 gallons without having to pay any road tax for it. I suppose the question is whether or not you could legally produce it in your city or county. It just looks like a viable option to the fossil fuels we're using now?

I am all for getting away from fossil fuels, don't get me wrong. I was just wondering what the cost/gallon the bio-diesel is right now compaired to if/when they start to mass produce it. Will it be treated like Big Oil with a few refineries setting the cost to what they want it to be or will it be everyone making their own. Home grown according to Willie Nelson.

Whatever it takes to get away from fossil fuels, they need to be moving as fast as possible to get us back to being more independant. Then we can tell the rich oil barons/theives to shove it.

I don't know much about biodiesel, except that it's not easily accessible right now and I'm not that desperate.....yet! An interesting note on that though, is that the corn growers are loving it. I read an article that said corn will rise 35% in price this year because they weren't able to produce as much as well as corn is used to produce biodiesel so demand is rising.
