the boy's are putting the pressure on me to take them to the USA for a riding holiday, and maybe a race or two. can any members assist with information about riding the tracks there, licencing to race and or help or guidence on rv or toy hauler hire or renting a house as a home base in a central area of a lot of tracks etc.

WOW!! What a great trip! First figure out where youd want to go and what time of year you plan on coming. If it's not in the middle of summer Id pick Texas as my#1 pick, California #2 and Florida #3. Texas has a rainy season so you'll need to be aware of this. Texas and Cali is too hot in the summer, as is Florida. We go to Florida in January almost every year and the weather is perfect for riding. Once you pick your destination (home base), members in that state would be happy to assist you with phone #s, email addies for home rentals amd RV rentals, Im sure. As far as racing, you can sign up at the tracks. If being an AMA member is required, most tracks will do that also. If it isnt a requirement, you pay your fee and its done...so pick out a date and a state and we'll help you from there.

Check the race series and schedules forums here. There are members and contacts available. You should also try the AMA website for the amateur schedule in the various districts. For shear number of tracks and opportunities try District 37, in Southern California. We have a lot of members there and you can race or practice 7 days a week, year round.
