Default bought a 4 stroke...

     

alright, i know, i know, i love two strokes, SO much, but i saw this one for sale down the street and offered him a trade and he took it, its a 82 xr200, i pick it up tomorrow, it runs but needs new rings, ill be redoing those, its an old air cooled bike so im gonna rebuild the shocks, new rings, and buy the missing frame mount, other then that i could ride it tomorrow. ill let you guys know how it goes!!

nevermind, not missing the engine mount. its just that way.

Why do you think it needs new rings? This is an OLD SCHOOL stroker, I think I still have the stock rings in my 82 Z50 engine!!
Is the bike running bad?

its smoking a little, ill see if its blue or not when i get it, might just need jetting!!

Those old engines were bulletproof. Even if it is smoking a little it probably still has 10 years of riding left before that becomes a problem!! Just remember, if you tear it down, there's a lot more that you'll have to take apart and put back together!

ill remember that!! i put the kybosh on takin it apart lol today when i rode it i was impressed, so i think ima keep it for trails and dinkin around on

Supercr125 dont mean to hijack but Mark Swart where do you ride in VA? i live in C-ville and besides local farms and a friends track i cant find anything nearby. also super nice. have fun with it and tear up some s***

and if that impressed you ... you should try one that is 250cc bigger and built in the last decade!

Telling you the new 4-strokes are impressive, guess you get what you pay for in terms of performance.

dodging: yea i know, ive ridden a 06 yz250f and it was pretty awesome! almost converted me, but still nothing has yet come close to replacing the sound and powerband of a two stroke...

You need to hear / ride my 450..... it would convert you in about 3 minutes. The white exhaust is just sweet.

I know what you mean about pingers though I love them.

well yea i wish i could afford to buy and keep up a 450 because ive ridden my friends quite a bit but its gonna take a bit more to get me to buy a nice 4 stroke lol id prob buy a new 06 rm250 before that even
