Default Black 06 YZ250 tank

For those of you who have done a hurricane kit, where did you get a your black gas tanks and how much were they.

I got a discount deal with One Industries for now thru 2007 season. I'm considering going with a new look and getting a black tank. I don't like the decals that cover the blue tank that come with the kit.

Plan B: Im also thinking of going with an 07 450 and the doug henry kit. anyway thanks in advance.

If you go with the '07 Joe, I might be interested in your 250.

ok thanks char. I have posted it on our [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] website for sale section with pics and a list of the extras. I marked it down pretty low being the end of the year. It's almost new still, since I got hurt in May I did not get to ride much this year. Rode it around home a few times lately and really have fun on it. I'm still trying to decide if I should keep it and just ride for fun or get a 450 to race.

I am expecting to hear back from a couple 125B local riders who are moving to 250 class after the Nov. 18th AMA final ruling. I'll let you know. I have a lot of ineterest but I think they are just waiting on the rule changes to be official. I kind of figure if someone wants it then it was meant to be and if not I'll just hold on to it. It's a lot less expensive than getting a new 450. lol

I went with a yellow tank on my conversion, but I got it from Clarke, I think it was around $160. It's my second tank from Clarke, and I have been happy with both of them.

thanks on the tank info. I was thinking black because I could change plastics around more easliy without the tank clashing too much.

Right now I'm fine with either bike. I just race a 450 better because it's what I'm used to and so smooth. Pure fun factor the YZ is a hoot. Plus it's cheaper to keep and easier to rebuild, start any time of year yada yada yada...So I'm just waiting to see what happens. Come December if I don't have a reasonable offer I'll make a decision.

thanks, joe

there are lots of good spots in Il. Casey aka Lincoln Trail, Effingham aka Cross Roads (formerly planet x-treme) see pics from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Nov. 5th, Taylorville aka South Fork many pics from there too on our site. All 3 have links on our site too, just FYI. just click on "pics" on the home page for race photos. anyhooo....

I'm having a hard time deciding what I'll do for 2007 mostly because my leg. It's been 6 months now and I still am having pain in my ankle, calf and knee that keeps me from running and lifting like before. The doc said the bones are all healed but the rest takes a lot longer. I'm supposed to get some screws out Nov. 14th, maybe that will help.

I'm training and doing rehab but it's pretty slow coming back. I thought I could just push myself harder but it seems to make it worse. I can deal with pain (not fun) but it just isn't getting stronger and working well as fast as I expected.

Anyway that's part of my dilema. I loved racing the last 4 years but this injury has been such a set back I am considering just riding for fun now and giving up the competition. Not looking for sympathy, we've all been hurt in the sport to some degree, part of it. I just have to see how the winter goes and keep praying and training/rehab.

I still love to ride, just not on the edge so much.

Dude....trust me, I feel your pain bro.

Just keep working that leg man and push thru the pain, it WILL come back it's just not all at once and not pain free. Don't give up on yourself, you body has a way of making itself work, even if some muscles don't work properly anymore, some other muscle will learn to compensate.

Just keep your head up and spirts high man, and trust that it WILL come back.

Joe,
If Jim and I can get back on the scoots after all the crap we have been through you can. I'll bet your fitness base has me whipped but I keep returning to my dirt bike narcotic fix everytime, even if the doctor and surgeon think I am certified loony.

thanks for the encouragement guys. I get impatient at times and maybe just get unrealistic in my expectations. I'm used to setting a goal and then working at it until I get there. This has been a lot harder to attain than I expected. I'm looking forward to that first real run. Right now I'm just lifting, stretching, biking and walking on my treadmill.

i been riding a little on my bike at home just for fun and even raced a friends CRF450 a couple times at the end of the year but was really way off my old pace. I needed to get back on the bike before the off season came, to further motivate me and prove to myself I could. To be completely honest I just get half mad at myself knowing what I used to do and what I do now, both on and off the bike. I'm very competitive by nature and maybe it's a sin but it hurts my pride and makes me feel like a panzy to go out there and ride at a level below what I was before.

I know you guys know how it is. you go thru some ups and downs, and have doubts at times. I keep reminding myself to count my blessings and recall just how much things have improved from the first 3 months when I was on crutches and in a cast or boot. I am thankful for what I've gained up to this point and want to keep moving forward. I have no doubt that I have learned a lot and been blessed during the process.

thanks again it helps. I know others have been through worse.

God bless, Joe
