Default the bike Yamaha need to build

how good would this be if Yamaha built something like it . It would put the Japanese in back in front of the Euro smokers by a mile

Even if it was built I doubt the AMA would let it race against 450's but maybe it would be an option on the Euro circuit? Truth be told I'm just glad to see Yamaha still investing in 2 strokes.

plus 1 on that , I know this is just a mock up but the thing is you have a YZ 250 that has had bugger all development since 2007 that people are still buying over a space age , up to date developed 4 stroke , if only the smokers had the same development put into them we would have bikes like these at the moment and as far as the AMA the 4 strokes changed the rules as they were the most competitive bikes of the time and all the teams wanted the most competitive bike if this bike was racing im guessing it would be pretty competitive and if it was the better of the 2 , the teams would want it !

In all honesty the YZ's have been essentially unchanged since 2002, excluding changing to an aluminum frame in 2005. But they are still being produced and sold which is more than any of the other Japanese manufacturers will do. I'm glad to see the YZ250X out though, and hope that Yamaha will continue to explore the 2 stroke market instead of letting KTM/Husqvarna, Beta, Gas Gas and a few others have all the fun.

Not really true. The last noteworthy change was in 2006, updating to the SSS suspension. That was a major improvement. Everything after 06 was pretty much cosmetic though.
