Default Bellpuig MX World Championship

This sunday the world championship series moved to Spain, Bellpuig for another race. The track was really muddy. Here's the report.
Heat 1: The first guys to attack the mud were Brian Jörgensen with Kevin Strijbos and Stefan Everts following him. After the first round you could hardly tell which rider it was because of the mud. They had to ride behind eachother because there was only one line rideable. Melotte (last weeks overall winner) was part of a crash in that first round and had to start from the back. In the third lap Jörgensen felt and Strijbos took first place, followed by Everts who already had trown away his goggles!! Mickaël Pichon parked his bike in a puddle of mud and walked to the pits. After 5 laps Strijbos had a lead of 20sec. to Everts. Everts started to improve lap times and had laps noticed from 6 sec (!!??) sec faster then the leader at that time!! Unbelievable!! After 3 rounds he got past Strijbos and took the lead!!Everts won, Strijbos also saw Joshua Coppins pass by. Kenneth Gundersen and Garcia Vico got 4 and 5 and my personal friend (who I don't see very much due to his racing career!!) Ken De Dycker got sixth (WAY TO GO KEN!!) Just a little ad, Everts lapped the 10 position.

Heat 2: The circuit was much dryer this time so multiple routes were rideable. Almost the same guys as heat 1 took the holeshot. Jörgensen, Coppins, Everts and Strijbos. After a few obstacles Strijbos' bike stopped. Trouble with his gearbox. Sad!! After round 1 it was Jörgensen who leaded followed by Everts, Coppins, Vico and Smets. Pichon was in 12th position and Ken De Dycker 17th. In lap 10 Everts passed Jörgensen and took a few seconds from him. Smets attacked Vico and succeeded. Marnique Bervoets who gave up in heat one, got on the 8th place the whole race. Followed by Steve Ramon and Cédric Melotte. Ken worked his way up to 14th position!!

Overall: 1. Everts 2. Coppins 3. Gundersen

Stefan Everts is the new leader on the world series at the moment!!

Here's a pic, most riders (only not RC ) get to see Stefan Everts
