| I'm posting this here for a friend of RDF who is raising funds for injured riders. Man, I've got a leg cramp just thinking about what he's going to try and do! Friends, Family, and Business Associates: On November 7th, 2009, I will be competing in the "Beach 2 Battleship" Full Ironman Triathlon ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) in Wilmington, NC. For those of you who are not familiar with a Full Ironman Triathlon, the event consists of three disciplines, performed in order on the same day. First is a 2.4 mile Swim, followed by a 112 mile Bike, and finishing with a 26.2 mile Run. That's right - your math is correct - 140.6 miles total! As part of my participation in this event, I am trying to raise funds for a charity I believe in - The RiderDown Foundation. Over the past several years, I have been injured while riding my motorcycle. Luckily for me, I have always had medical insurance to assist with the costs. There are, however, many riders who are not so fortunate. For that reason, I have selected "The RiderDown Foundation" as the charity I would like to support. Please visit the group's site to learn more. ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) I would like to ask you to support this charity by making a donation to help fuel me along. If you are willing to participate, please do so by following a few specific instructions when clicking on the link below. Note: This link will take you directly to the donation area. It is powered by PayPal but accepts credit cards as well. Link: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] In the "memo area" or "special instructions to merchant field" please type "Team Turtle". By specifying Team Turtle, it will allow RiderDown to better track donations specific to my event. This will be a very long day for me, no doubt, but I feel that it is worth it...and a small way of giving back to the Motorcycle community. |
