Default Battery charge?

I've wired a two prong plug to my battery for easy access when charging. I hope to be able to hook it too a charger and forget it. Problem is that I don't know the difference in types of chargers.
Do I need an automatic "trickle" charger, a "maintainer", or something else. I don't want to overcharge and kill the battery. I just want plenty of power when I decide to go riding.
Can someone please explain the difference in types of chargers and advise?

A maintainer will only keep your good charged battery at that level. It will not recharge a low battery. This should be what you need, for your application.
A trickle charger will charge a low voltage battery, but if left on too long it can overcharge it as well.
I use low out put solar chargers on all my heavy equipment.

Thanks
I have a charger if ever needed, so I'll get a maintainer.

The little bicycles advantage more from a rich blend than the greater bicycles do since they truly need the additional pressure. Run it 32:1 for good oil and top end life. You can run it less fatty in the event that you need, yet 32:1 should work for pretty much any bicycle.

Not all lead-acid car battery chargers are designed to be deep cycle battery charger especially since the needs of a deep cycle battery are drastically different than those of a regular car battery.

Battery Tender 800 is a good stuff. It is compact and waterproof.
