Default ATM MEMBERS PLEASE READ

Hello my felow bike riders, etc. ,
As we grow as a site there will be users that do not get along period. Some will be right, while others wrong. But who is to really know. We are here to relax and share information in a family way. So if you find a person who offends you. I highly suggest you add him and his post to your ignore list. That way they don't exist to you anymore. Just think, another month and everybody can get back to riding bikes and quads again. Trust me I have about six guys on my ignore list. Works pretty good! This is just another tool for you to grow from. So I ask this of you all.......what can you do to make this a better site?

I hope I am not on your ignore list!

I dont have anyone on my ignore list. I find it amusing to read posts by offensive users. Nothing like a good laugh at an ill-composed post!

Almost scares me to know someone might not like me and ignores me...hmmm, maybe theres a reason not a lot of people respond to my stuff. But yea, a lot of stress will be releived once everyone gets to ride finally.

The reason I love this site is that everyone is eager to help one another and respect one another. Maybe we don't like what someone else has said or done but everyone is intitaled to an opinion.

just kidding!

i agree with Ren, personally i get a laugh out of some of the more juicier posts. i'm the kind of person that need to know whats goin on, back when i was an (active) member of DRN (no bashing intended) i had a few people on my ignore list, and there were a couple threads when i got confused..."thats a good point, ******, but my view is yada yada yada...." and i couldnt figure out what was going on.

but still, very good point macho.

Very well said Macho, and I think we all know this thread has been needed for a while now. As Macho said, we would ask that if you don't get along with someone, either take the discussion to pm's or preferably...drop it. This intention of this forum is to discuss dirtbikes and related topics...not to bash each other or argue

BTW...I don't use my ignore list, I just ignore you all anyway though

This is for macho and Zoo who are ignoring me

Let's try and be productive and get along folks. This site is great and I feel it is one if not THE best dirtbike forum out there. let's make it even better by keeping the debates to a friendly discussion and no more personal attacks.

Machoman sux LOL Glad he has me on ignore.

Personally I find people interesting--you know, there are so many different varieties of individuals. I also find that at some level everyone has something to contribute in a way that no one else can. Consequently, I learn so much from all of you and, as a result, I respect and appreciate each of your contributions.

And since we all have so many different backgrounds, temperments, and yes, quirks, sooner or later certain personalities are just not going to always blend well with others. This is not necessarily bad. In fact, conflict in any community is inevitable. How we manage that conflict is what is important.

So, when (not if) conflicts occur in an online community like say, ATM, I think the governing principle should be mutual respect. What this means for me is that if a conflict or misunderstanding arises that doesn't directly involve me, then it is none of my business. When something is none of my business, I do not address it in any fashion--encourage it, discourage it or anything. The issue is completely between the concerned parties and the moderators--that is, if the process of resolving the conflict needs their guidance or direction. Even the moderators' own involvement in the issue is none of my business, as I am a guest in this community by invitation.

Bottom line? As with all relationships, even healthy communities have conflict. How members respond to that conflict will determine how healthy that community will remain. Mutual respect toward one another seems to be the best brand of oil for the crankcase of my soul (sorry for the cheap metaphor). This means that I do not trespass on matters that are none of my business.

Seems Mr Cox has some schooling. Good answer dude!As for who's own my ignore list its Ketto three times, Tyler Once. Then Ketto two more times. But really If I just don't like reading certain peeps stuff or I just don't like a thread. I put it on my ignore list. Why read stuff that will make you mad? I don't get that one.So for me its better not to fight and walk away than to start a problem that could be a 1000 miles away get it?
