atm loading

at my house i well have free somewhat pirated internet ,wireless that has a fairly low signal but i can go onto any website including other forums. Is there anything i can do to my computer to make atm work? It drives me nuts not being able to b here half the week!

I know plenty....however I also know to use someonelses wireless network without thier permission is illegal.

is it really? I think its broudcasted in my town im not sure. I didnt know it was illegal if it just came up on ur computer.

If it's designated as a Hot spot or provided by the town for free then no, it isn't against the law, however if it's your neighbors (Wich it probably is) then if they were to catch you they could press charges, a case just like this was recently in our local papers. No kidding.

As for the comment about me not liking anything illegal....no I prefer to stay on this side of the law as anyone should.

Thanx though, i didnt know it was illegal, allways figured if u can get on without a password then theres nothing wrong with it.

That was the peoples argument here locally....it didn't hold up. Keep in mind it would take someone with some amount of skills to even know you are there, and chances are someone who hasn't secured their network doesn't have any, but I wouldn't chance it, nor am I implying that anyone else should either.

Just googled it, my local library a block away is a hotspot. When i get home wednesday ill make sure but thats where im getting it from.

Since you don't have any control over their router or wifi, It's pretty impossible to figure out why it doesn't work, unless they are just blocking it. which if it is the library, it's very possible that ATM triggers their block.

Go their and see if you can bring it up on one of their computers?

I have the same problem with ATM not loading when at home. All week while at college on my laptop, it loads perfectly fine, then, when i go home and use my laptop, everything else works as normal, except ATM won't load. So i know it isnt something on my computer cause at school, it works. ATM also wont load on our home desktop either.

Not sure how to get rid of or change this, but maybe its the permissions when you first logged on to ATM. I did this once and couldnt use ATM until I reformatted. It asked some permissions about allowing or denying and I couldnt ever use it when I accidentally clicked deny.

if you can get internet from your neighbors than you can most likely hack into their files pretty easily and steal things that is why its so wrong to get wireless, my sister had things randomly ordered from her credit card, someone hacked through the password and got into her files on a wireless connection from her dorm room
