Unhappy Another Injury

...Well guys...another one...My friend came over today(the one that has the cracked case)..we worked on cleaning up the cases with acetone...worked at that for a couple hours and then I got out my CR...he loves my bike so I thought we could switch off for a few mins...I trust him on my bike so after I warmed it up and rode it around the yard I let him ride..he rode down in some fields with me watching()...came back and I rode for a few mins...let him ride again...he went in this other field..I couldn't see him and could barely hear the bike...I didn't hear it for like 5 mins and thought something was wrong..I figured he just stalled it...then I heard the motor again and he was coming back...he was heading down the dirt road towards me and I noticed the right barkbuster(right as if you were on the bike)was bent upwards on the bar...he stopped. And said he thought he had broken his finger.

Well it turns out he broke is right hand...spiral break...out for 6 weeks.

Those kinds of breaks are the worst kind, usually kids get those from "falling down the stairs" if you know what i mean.

That sucks dude, get the bikes fixed up and go back to ridin'!

Yeah,it does Suck Jim...to many injuries here lately!!!! I don't know whats up with all of them. I hope I can keep being lucky like I have been when I crash...I have crashed my CR and XR really bad lots of times...crashes where I should have gotten hurt..thats the first time he has ever laid my CR down and he broke is hand.

I don't use use the barkbusters or hand guards because they will trap your hand and then you fly over the handlebars and break your hand/finger/wrist. Once I removed them this trapping in the dirt stopped.

I did pay for the lack of handguards last week when I misjudged the width of two tree's I thought I could wheelie and cross-up in between. Lets just say I did not fit and trapped mmy hands on the clutch and front brake on the two trees....

My handlebars are huge but I need the leverage for the 335# bike...

Yeah I have heard of that happening before "jim"...but I can't risk riding without handguards....I ride tight eastern trails and your just asking for broke fingers, hands, etc without them. Ask Rick(KTM250rm393)about my trails..he will tell you those trails are no place for someone without guards.

barkbusters should be good, but forget those acerbis plastic guards without the aluminum..

p.s... I ride the same rocky heavily wooded Eastern Trails you do...

I've clipped trees before but this is the first time I was stupid enough to try and fit between two trees that were no where near wide enough.... One finger broke a little at the end, put the glove back on and kept riding...

Yeah I use "Answer" bark busters on my XR which is just an aluminum bar...on my CR I use "TUSK" which has a plastic shield with the aluminum bar running through them.

CHARMANDER,I called him when I was driving home from work and his hand is in a plastic cast thingy ma jiggy(don't know doctor word for it)...he's got to go to an orthopedic(is that it?)doctor person next week and depending on how it looks..that will decide if he has to have surgery or not.

LOL...

Carl,I think he does indeed write with his right hand so if thats the case I guess he will have to use his left...VERY HARD to do...I have tried. I just hope they don't have to do surgery.
