Default Alpinestars or forma

So I have been wanting new boots and not wanting to spend a lot. Well I'm looking under 300 dollars. I found alpinestars for 270 the tech 5s. But while looking I found the formas terrain tx. They are a full hinged boot for about 240. Question is does anyone have experience with forma boots? I have never seen them out while riding so don't really know about them. Thanks

I ordered the formas but they were on backorder and never came. So, I cancelled the order and went for some used AStar Tech 6s... that wound up lasting 2 rides. I'm sure this is not the norm, but it was my experience. Keep in mind, they were used. I got some closeout Comp8s that I broke in today and they were quite nice.

When it comes to boots, if you aren't growing, I recommend spending a bit more money to get a quality boot that will last. I wear Sidi Crossfire 2's, absolutely love them, no break in required but they are about double what you are looking to spend. Gaerne SG10's or SG12's are another good choice for a higher end boot. No matter what your price point is, good protection and ankle support are what you should be keying in on. Boots that are soft in the ankle area won't offer much help when you need them to.
