Ok, so I have always liked Twin air and Uni air filters, but I'm looking to see what els is out there. As I was cleaning the air filters in the bikes and prepping them for a ride tomarrow, I relised the inner filter on my Uni filter was starting to ware out and acually had a small rip in it!!!! I wont use it for long with a rip in it... SO!!! I'm in the market for a new filter, what do you run? how do you like it? Thanks.

Just from reading there page, sounds like its for a 4 stroke? never thought there was a difference in the air filters between 2/4 strokes? would I need to oil a filter like that? looks like it would be a pita to get oil in all those areas? thanks.

Yes you oil it. It comes with oil and cleaner. It's aerosol so it's easy. The cleaning is the best part. Just spray it on, let it set for 10 minutes, and hose it from the inside out. Shake the water out of it and spray the oil on. Piece of cake. And you may be right about them being for 4-strokes only. I would be surprised but I really have no clue.

I started with the Twin-Air's and Uni's (don't use No-toil on the Uni Not that its necessary but I also use a Pro-Seal ring for added protection~it mates to the air box for added protection (Thanks, Bill) Last edited by pragmatic393; 07-01-2007 at 07:00 AM.

I use a Twin-Air with the No-toil oil, great combo IMO.

Twin-Airs are definitely at the top; very good construction The Moose filter is the first one I've seen that matches the quality of the Twin-Air's (maybe Twin-Air makes them also)

I use a Uni and it seems to work well for me. I haven't tried anything else, but I had heard that Uni was a pretty good brand so that's what I'm investigating right now. Seems to be holding up pretty well!

Moose filers and No Toil...that combination rocks. The neoprene base works very well..no need for that messy grease.

I've used every brand over the years and Twin Air filters are my favorite. Never had much luck with the Uni's and I didn't like the two filter set up. It seemed I could never get them aligned properly...or should I say aligned to my liking. I haven't seen the Moose filters you are talking about but that seems like it may be a good one too.

I have had a couple of Twin Air's and they are very well made. I recently bought what I thought to be a standard No Toil. When the package arrived it turned out to be their cheaper Fast 3 filter. It turned out to be a fast waste of $12 or so. The plastic ring where the mounting screw goes through seems to be too thick and it was a real pain to get the screw started because it was almost too short with that filter. The filter itself did not look to be constructed real well either. I used it once and then replaced it with a Twin Air. Last edited by KX02; 07-30-2007 at 09:41 AM.
