I hope the Yamaha lord doesnt strike me down, but I would have to say the CR...the power on the CR is a lot more manageable and the seat is more plush

Man I love my KTM, but the prices are woohooo.

For once I have to agree with brcrk, the KTM lords will strike me down, but those that have the CRF450, I hear and read fantastic reports about them. Now to me the KTM comes in second place.

I know there are a lot of good things about the Honda but I see first hand when they get ridden real real hard in very hostile environments. I see the problems they are having and I stand at the finish line and see who comes in and on what bike. I know I am not riding as hard as these guys so it makes me want a KTM but in all fairness I have never ridden the crf or the KTM so I will reserve final judgment until I have ridden both.

You have to understand that they are totaly different machines with their own faults.

I have to ask, what are you going to be doing with the bike? How old are you? What is your riding style?

R&D @ KTM has long since been the king of enduro. No one can match them. I am not saying that the CR is not a good woods bike or the KTM is not a good mx bike, but thye appear to have their advantages in their enviroment.

I have to state that I have ridden them all and IMO you want to go faster than everyone else get the YZ, if you want the best suspension and handling get the CR. While the KTM will match the YZ down the straight it doesnt have the handling and suspension for MX but outshines the CR in the woods.

Like I said its just my opinion, people have different riding styles and preferences. You cant go wrong with any of them. But even as a YZ owner I would go for the CR because I mainly ride MX, but if I rode trails more often I would choos the KTM

Naw, I wouldn't even do that. See, I've already got a two-stroke, I need the thumper. That way I can have best of both worlds. There's something to be said for balance in a person's life.

We ride and race in the hostile deserts of So Calif. Thats why I lean towards the KTM. Its more like enduro riding I am not much for tracks even though I won't pass an oppurtunity to ride with friends at one I just don't go to them for practice. I prefer getting out in the wide open spaces and going on 30-60 mile trail rides/ bonzai runs.
