Default 2nd Ride report

Ok, this was way better then my first outing. I still got arm pump, not as soon, I still stalled it, not as much, and cornering is still a lil tough but I was getting some air! Scared myself once actually...lol I felt much better riding and smiled all they way home. I actually felt fast in a few places. Man that was fun, like I remembered it to be.

I was getting 2 to 2-1/2 laps in before I had to rest the arms this time. I guess its like 1.2 mile coarse or something like that. Before it was one lap pull off...lol. This place was a little more 450 friendly I think then the first place I rode. I know Jeff172 doesnt like the place I went today but I kind of thought it was cool. The uphill step up is a blast!

Can't wait to go again!

Sounds fun.

I went riding today too. It was my second time at that track. I improved a lot from the last time I was there. There is only one jump I dont do. All the rest are fine. It has two 150ft climbs and downhills. It has two step-ups, I think only one table top, 1 rythem section and a bunch of doubles. At top of both hills their are jumps.

There was two CR250's their at the track a long with a CRF450. I am pretty confident if in a race situation I could have beaten or atleast been tight on em. However the kid on the 450 was fast. Other than that there wasnt hardly anyone their except for my little brother on the might CRF50 and two other kids with 65's.

I had a blast, and cant wait to go back again(we got a membership key to gate so we can go anytime we want! )

This saturday I will be attending a motocross school, my first one.

I need help in the corners bad. Cant wait to learn how to "rail" them.

MV, I bet you applied some of the techniques you learned from your thread on "Controlling the Beast". If you watch the "Satch Getting Roosted Bigtime" video, you'll see m2g4b trying to pass me on the inside. He would have easily done it if he hadn't gotten too hard on the gas. That's what everyone is talking about when they say "finesse" or "roll" the throttle. Spring is definitely here in the south so I hope it will be warming up your way and you will get more seat time. That's the main key for all of us!

Yes Sir Jedi, I applied everything I could remember. I focused on higher gears, riding with my wieght over the bars, keeping my elbows up, using my legs to hold the bike and keeping a smooth throttle over obsticles.

Before I went out this time I turned my bars towards me a little, I raised my shifter lever (last time it was to low I couldnt get my foot under it) and turned my clutch and front brake levers so my elbows would have to be a little higher to grab them.

I forgot to adjust my Idle up a little, I will do that this weekend.

Good to hear you are getting more comfortable on the bike man, now all you need to do is show up for Red Bud next weekend.

I like that track too. That uphill step up is sweet but trying to hit it on my 125 I couldn't get too much air on it. When I was there I saw some guys throwing whips off it. Hopefully I can meet you out there next time. That ski jump looks sick! Did you try that one? I didn't!

The Beast and I are become good friends. I loosened up my death grip and lowered the rpm's and She has stop punishing me (as much) for it.

I would LOVE to go to Red Bud! But with my Family, work and other extra curricular activities it's not possible. I am limited to 1 night a week (tue or thurs) and one race per month. This is the deal I made with my wife when I bought the bike so our family and personal time together would not suffer. and the first race for me is on the 24th of April and I don't want to miss it.

Ahh yes...the deals with the spouse.

I would assume that she will be coming with you to the races? If so then you just added personal time that you are spending together, therefore she should want you to race that much more.

Kidding of course, wouldn't it be nice if it worked that way all the time though?

Nice. Say, can you post the link for your first ride report? I missed it.

I thought it was snowing in that second picture you posted. I thought you guys were pretty hardcore to be riding in the low 30s (brrrrrr).

Yea, I was born and raised in upstate NY; but being down in Georgia since 96 has absolutely ruined me for All Things Winter!

Thanks. I can't wait to read it.

After tomorrow (if it doesn't pour--I don't do mud anymore), I will probably add some whining of my own. Actually, if I can finish up the day without injury I will consider whatever else happens an absolute success (this is the same track I crashed on several months ago).
