Wow is right... 4lbs shaved off is incredible! I don't care for the header routing at all being an off-road guy, I can see many of those getting smashed and dinged up by rocks. But other than that... holy crap!

No affence guys, but I really hate honda now.Look at them number plates,I wonder who they stole that shape from??KTM!!Still no fat bars?No billet alum adjustable off set clamps? No electric start?I thought for sure honda would have put electric start on this year.I think hondas falling behind in bling and goodies.Rather have a KTM, RM-Z or Yamie. But hey, kudos to honda for FINNALY changing it up some

Hmmmm looks pretty cool, that is one odd header. I wonder how the motor is, they did say it was "all new". The only thing..............that front fender looks....................kinda like......a...........ttr front fender........... oh well, cant wait to hear a review or two.

I'd rather have function than bling myself. Yes I hate Renthal bars, but I always end up replacing bars after I buy a bike anyways so it doesn't matter much. Electric start? Blah, that's icing on the cake, definitely far from necessary. The header is not cool like I said before, not a big fan of the side panels, but look at the big picture- they took an already awesome bike, shaved 4lbs and gave it more power... how does it get much better than that?

Don't even try to compare the Honda to the KTM. I could care less about the fat bars, I'll buy protapers. Who really needs billet anything anyway? There is a reason why Honda has outsold every other brand hands down ever since the 02 CRF came out.....and you are looking at it. That 09 is the culmination of all that is good about 4-strokes.

You need one Dennis. It will change your moto-outlook forever.

Cody, Cody, Cody, you really worry me......
The X has the electric start. You are looking at the "R", you know the "R" for motocross.
"kudos to honda for FINNALY changing it up some."
They changed almost every thing or did you miss that?
You think they are falling behind in bling, well maybe but not sure what bling does. As long as they out sell your favorite brand, does not matter, right.

One more smack talk item Cody, Honda has sold more of 1 two wheeler (Cub) than all the KTMs ever made, put together.

Ooooh man, that thing looks sweet! maybe I should have waited ... nah, the 2010 will be even better!

I do not like that header though. I agree with what's been said, that's just wanting to be dinged. The pipe is certainly more forward though, so it all comes at a cost, I just still wouldn't want to pay to replace it. Otherwise... gosh it looks good. Nice job Honda.

I really think they hit the ball out of the park with this one. Guess we'll see. But I can see 2009 bike of the year already.

Oh, and I'm really happy to see the KYB suspenders. I have always like showa, but you can't argue if you've ridden recent year KYB susp. that it is very good. The shock in particular.

You weren't singing that tune when chasing my rear fender through the trees at EFR, or when you rode my blue bike...
Woody I was kind of surprised to see the KYB stuff on the bike, but it sounds promising. It will probably win every bike of the year award because (1) it tends to dominate that category anyway and (2) since it's all new it's got the upper hand.

Well I admit ktm does need to step it up some,But look at what they have in plan for 2010.Linkage,efi,twin spar frame aswell as all the goodies that they already have like the magic button. They are already testing and there was a pic on here about there latest prototype.O wait what did I miss,if you are looking for sheer horsepower........the 450sx-f has 59!60 somethin with some bolt ons.

Here is there twin spar 250sx-f,they are still working on the linkage and fi but this is what it will be if they cant come up with it in time for 2010

LOL...believe me...I'm thinking about it. I'm sure three bikes would fit in my garage..

As far as the pipe being in a vulnerable position, think back to the good old two stroke days. The pipe hung down a lot lower in those days and we survived.

Lets stick with the new Honda 450 and leave the KTM talk for another thread.

RM-Z changed just about nothing from '08-'09. Yamaha changed their swingarm... woo. KTM is STILL behind on their bikes (from an MX/SX standpoint that is), electric start or not. Stealing the side number plates from KTM? Have you considered that maybe that's just the direction the body work is moving? Have you looked at the Kawi's?

Hmmm... Linkage, efi, twinspar frame... I wonder where they stole that from! Hmmm... Jap bikes! When you're looking at huge components of the bike versus side panels, I think your previous argument is a bit superficial. Magic button...? Neat-o. I put in some seat time on a KTM this summer and those things straight up don't turn, they feel super heavy. I was impressed with the brakes and the top end power, but the lack of turning reminded me of an '03 YZ450F. I don't like having to wrestle with a bike to get it to settle into a rut or berm.

1.) KTM only sells so many because they only make so many? Are you serious? If someone wanted a KTM, they could go buy it. It wouldn't be a case of "Oh... we're out. We'll put you on the wait list for next year's." They just straight up don't sell as much as the Jap bikes because in large... people don't like them as well.

2.) We're not talking about 06-08, are we? We're talking about the '09 model. So this argument isn't valid.

We're all entitled to our opinions. Correct you are. Nobody's bashing you, they're simply stating their opinions, no need to take it personally. As you said about me "Are you really that sensitive?"

P.S. - Pick up ANY mag and read the shoot-outs. See where the KTM landed the last five years.
