I didn't vote for what I ride but what I would buy if I was in the market for a new bike this year. There will be no beating the Honda this year

I would have to agree, the Honda will probably win. I have not gotten to ride one yet, I have rode the 09 yz450. It feels exactly the same as my 08. The bottom end power is weak on the 09 without after market exhaust. Since my 08 is set up for me with stiffer springs, better bars, and other tweaks I have to say I like my 08 better then the 09.

The Honda will be hard to beat this year though, its a whole different bike from what I have seen and read.

Default honda front end

i dont know about you guys, but the front end on the honda looked like it was dancing on him coming out of corners. It looks ok, dont get me wrong i just dont know if it is living up to the hype like everyone thinks it is..... just my two cents.........

I'll leave it up to the public, who ever sells the most wins.

If I could get a new bike (and I wish I could), I'd go for the Honda as well.

Well for me it all comes down to what you get for your bucks, and what you want to do to with it. Are you a racer or a weekend warrior, afterall money fixes everything right So for my bikes being used for 100% racing, i look for reliability, handling, power down, and stopping power.
You can have all the power in the world, but if the back wheel brakes traction and hops all the time then it's wasted. If it doesn't come with the right size front disc rotor, then get used to overshooting corners, or worse trying to grab to much late because of brake fade, it will most likley stall the bike, and then how quick does it restart after you've stalled it

And last but not least does it turn corners, tight, in ruts, bad braking bumps, in sand, etc etc. How do you know which is best, if you can try and ride them all, that's what we do. If your in a club or into racing, you will be more likeley to get a go on a different brand. So if you stick with the same colour all your life you'll never know what your missing.

For the record we went from blue to green in 08, and i can't see that changing for 09, but you never know!

We would have gone Zuke, for 08 but they were to slow getting the 450 out on the floor. They turn great and the efi was a hit, especially off the line!

The zook is my second pic,but I would rather have the katoom The rm-z is IMO by far the best turning bike, and has great response and because its a 450 it has plenty of punch everywhere. All the 450's have amazing power, its just which one handles, and looks the best weight is a factor to with these big bores.

My buddy brought his 09 honda 450 to the track today, first ride, just got it yesterday. Man, that thing was a pain to start. lucky for us a guy a few cars down had a new honda as well, he said turn the idle adjust 8 clicks up, which seemed to do the trick. You would think the shop he bought it from would be hip to that knowledge instead of sending a guy out the door to spend half his day kicking it. Other then that, the bike is sick, and looks good, turns good, good power. If I didnt have an 08 I would probably be running out to buy a new 09, but I can wait, I like my bike
