I was just flat-out WRONG about Bubba this year. Especially in Motocross. I thought he would dominate for the most part.
And 1kx100, I learned my lesson too about counting out RC. RC knows his career is winding down but I certainly wouldn't call him "past his prime"! That would be ridiculous. Bubba will have to work for what he gets next year. I think he will snag a win here and there but he won't be constistent enough for a title.

i dont think rc's carrer is really even close to down yet, hey mc raced till he was 33 (correct me if im wrong on that) so ricky will be good for sure around atleast 27-28

but with bubba, he just needs to get settled into a 250 racing seen and not being the fastest guy on the track, then he will just take off and win all the time. hes riding just like rc did back in 97 and 98, a little wild and a little unpredictable but when he doesnt crash he does really good

It's gonna be awhile before anyone takes anything from RC outdoors. SX isn't exactly RC's strong suit, but he knows what it takes to win championships. His consistancy will take the overall.

I'm not saying he's about finished. But even RC knows his time is limited. You say he's good 'til 27-28? He's 25 now so check out this interview with USA Today. His career is by no means over. But it's winding down. I think he could even go 5 or 6 more years but I also think he is a guy who wants to go out on top.

Are you being even close to serious while making that comment?? I would highly suggest that you watch OLN when they show repeats of all the outdoor races this year, and tell me that RC looks like he is winding down. On top of that, tell his trainer, who says RC is in the best shape of his life, that RC's career is winding down. Ohhh, tell all the PRO racers that are getting lapped, that RC's career is winding down. Last, and certainly not least, be sure to tell K-Dub, who seems to be stuck in 2nd, that RC's career is winding down!

Now me on the other hand, my riding career is winding down. LOL So had you made that statement you would have been accurate, but come on brother, RC is on fire, and only getting stronger and more confident!

Easy there, Fox. You should read the entire thread carefully. And go ahead and check out the link I posted. And again here for you. :

I'm just pointing out the fact of RC's humility. He is very likely smack dab in the middle of his prime right now. But he realizes that careers are potentially very short in this sport. He knows his time is limited and you should too.

It looks like the link is no longer working so here is a copy and paste.

Carmichael clinches AMA Motocross title
DELMONT, Pa. (AP) Ricky Carmichael clinched his sixth straight AMA 250cc Motocross Championship with a win at Steel City Raceway on Sunday.

"We don't have long careers in this sport and I'm just trying to win as much as I can while I can," said Ricky Carmichael after clinching his 6th straight championship.
By Larry Lawrence, AMA Pro Racing via AP

The 25-year-old Floridian won his 26th consecutive motocross national. If Carmichael wins the series finale next Sunday in San Bernardino, Calif., he will be the first rider to go undefeated in three seasons.

Carmichael led every lap of both motos on his Makita Suzuki and was never seriously challenged. Hondas Kevin Windham who made the race after weathering Hurricane Katrina from his home in Centreville, Miss. finished second and Frenchman David Vuillemin was third on a Yamaha.

"When I signed with Suzuki I really didn't expect to have the kind of year I've had," said Carmichael, who gave Suzuki its first AMA 250cc Motocross Championship since 1999.

"I find it hard to believe myself sometimes. We don't have long careers in this sport and I'm just trying to win as much as I can while I can."

Carmichael is the most dominant rider ever in American motocross. This years championship marked his 13th AMA national title. In addition to his now six AMA 250cc Motocross Championships, Carmichael also earned three national championships in 125cc motocross and four in stadium motocross.
