![]() hey all, i have been tossing around the idea of getting a bike and learn to race it instead of a quad. now the wifey says NO WAY! she says its to dangerous for me. i have tried to tell her that it would take me a while to even get the balls to hit any jumps at any kind of speed, but she still dont want me to. i have even told her it aint no worse then racing SX on my quad when some one gets close and we touch a few times ( ![]() ryan |

![]() One thing it takes balance to ride a quad. I feel 2 wheels are safer if you don't do big jumps but big jumps are dangerus for anything. |

![]() I've never raced a quad so don't consider my opinion worth much. But for what little it's worth, I feel 1,000 times safer on a 2-wheeler. Especially when passing or getting passed! You can actually learn to change lines in the air which gives you more flexibility. Quads are like double-wides. Need a flag car in front and rear. ![]() I think most MX crashes are a result of bad choices and contact with another rider. I feel much better about getting my CRF away from another rider than I would a 4-wheeler. Two-wheelers seem MUCH safer to me. But that's just my opinion. |

![]() I have done both. And for me racing quads is where it's at. Now this is how I see it if you can ride a dirtbike you will know it much sooner than if you can ride a quad. Quads give lowsy riders false confidence, where a bike will tell you real quick if you can do it or not. Me pesonally I can ride both but just enjoy the riding style of a quad better. But if I had the money I would have both. Then I could go back and forth. |

![]() Ive ridden both and ive found that hands down a bike is way more manuverable in any terrain. Ive ridden from tracks to sand and even tight wooded trails and bikes just dont keep up anywhere. Get a 125 and just enjoy it you wont be sorry. |

![]() I vote for 2 simply because of the weight and manouverability. |

Re: 2 or 4 wheels? TRX, I biased so take this with a grain of salt. A bike is a lot lighter than a quad so if it jumps on you in a get off you are less likely to get hurt. Seems machines follow flesh and jump on it when you try to leave a moving machine I have lost too many friends to quads here from broken necks in rollovers. Yes a bike can hurt you but you can get away from bike easier. I have no problem with quads and share track and trail cheerfully. Just feel safer riding a bike after riding them since 1972.
